Hello just bought a 2012 rzr s 800 and im still pretty new to the atv utv scene. This might be a dumb question, Thinking about going to the dunes this weekend and wanted to know if i could ride out there on the stock tires or would i need paddels? These machines are supper fun and cant wait to get it dirty im not sure where ill b doing most my riding wether it be more mountain trails or dunes.

Yup, lower the air and have fun. In 4X4 mine went up and down a lot of dunes I didn't think it would. Watch out for the witches eyes!

Hey there and welcome....I'm not on the left coast, will be soon, best advice has been given over and over.....which is "be careful until you get used to it.....then give yourself another 40 hours in the seat! There are great people here, they will reach out, give a hand, advice, just use your head and have fun! An idea might be to find a crew (maybe a couple guys from this site?) that will meet you and ride with you. If the guys are cool, they'll show you the ropes, keep it to a mild roar, and give you advice. AGAIN, USE YOUR HEAD! Best Luck-

Dont forget to warm up your drive belt before climbing hills. Make sure u watm it up to add some flex. This will keep u from snapping it and will get longer life out of it. Some people get 100 miles other 1000+.

Welcome to the addiction!! Now for my newbie speech. Go out, have fun, be safe, don't get crazy. When you get back, buy a set of quality harnesses, preferably 5-points. Trust me on this, you will need them (particularly if you hit one of Rory's Witches Eyes). Check out Pro Armor's, UTV Inc's, Dragonfire's, they're all good. I run PA's and I love them. End of speech....lol

Make sure to tie a bandana around your mouth and nose, you will be grinning so wide you will have a half pound of sand between your teeth!!
Welcome Good luck be safe.

They are an invisible hole in a dune that your car drops into, then stops. Quickly....very quickly. They're generally cone shaped and blend in so well you can't see them until it's too late. Thank God for 5-point harnesses.
