9 out of 10 dentists prefere colgate... That survey wasn't done with every dentist in the world either. It's still ligit though within it's ratio.

I suppose the point i'm making is that even if you went to another forum and got a response of 92.5% positive out of only 1/2 a dozen votes or so the ratio is still the same. Polls like these with this many votes does give a fairly accurate ratio believe it or not. You don't have all the bad experiences added up but nor do you have all the good and when the poll keeps increasing both sides do at about the same ratio. Darwins Theory... LOL.

Also I notice some people are voting "Yes" but not posting a reply... This doesn't help much and could also be taken as "SPAM" voting because if you had a problem with your tranny i'm sure you would be more than happy to vent about it to a large public forum like this. This forum is very much about helping one another with problems so voting "Yes" and just leaving doesn't help anyone. Please indicate exactly what went wrong. Some might just be voting "Yes" because when they are driving 10 miles per hour and shifting on the fly it grinds... LOL. Please be helpfull to your fellow members and explain the problems.

Thanks.

so you have proof that forum polls are a fairly accurate ratio................? lets see it. you have to have a proper sample size. 100 poll results out of 2000 might be good. 100 out of 15,000 might not be. how many 2010 rzrs were sold? does anyone have that information?

I would say the poll is fairly accurate. In fact, i am even going to say the number of people with problems is less then this poll is showing. Why? well because if your on this forum, you most likely want to get the most out of your machine and your probably a more hardcore rider then the average rider out there...Look at all the people with turbos, big bores, various crap adding weight, etc...i could be wrong, but if i had to bet money, i would say the number is actually a percent or 2 less...

Just my .02

The point of the poll was that it seemed that every time we turned around someone ON HERE was having problems with their transmission on 2010's. With that being said, the poll is very accurate. You will see as the voting numbers go up the average problems will stay close to the same percentage. :icon_rockwoot:

Oh yeah, canada = hockey. you guys do have major league teams though. basically i was just saying that the sample size is too small. yes it may hold pretty close over the total sales of 2010 rzrs BUT its impossible to know that for sure. And of course this is assuming that everyone with transmission issues has been due to the same malfunction which probably isn't the case every time.

I know their is more than 11 with problems, want a accurate assessment go read all those threads, start calling dealers at random ask how many they have done, just think how many have had problems that never said anything about it on the web.

A baseball player hit 43 for 100 his first month of the season. Since thats roughly 1/6th of his at bats for the season i guess its safe to say he's going to end the season hitting .430 since sample sizes don't matter.
Of course sample size is important. But that really doesn't make this poll inaccurate. The poll is accurate within the people on the forum. Which is why i said i feel that the percentage (off all 2010 rzr users) with problems is probably a bit less.

Using your baseball analogy, since we are only 1/6th through the season, does that mean his batting average of .430 is inaccurate? No. Of course it could change once you factor in all his bats.

To get a real idea, you would have to poll people from all over the US, from all walks of life, and all driving styles to really get an accurate percentage.

Well of course there is more then 11, not all those folks visit these forums, or even have a computer, let alone take the poll.
Just likes there are a ton of other people out there who also don't have problems. Or haven't had them yet :)

I personally think if you are a person who has not owned a SXS before, if you go on any SXS manufacturer's specific forum, you would be scared to buy one of these things. Most of the threads are started because of a problem or what someone thinks is a problem. The truth is, everything manufactured whether it be a car, truck, dirtbike or SXS, there will be issues with it, its made by humans and humans are not robots that do everything perfect.
