Is this the same sound system that comes with the ultimate?

The Stage 4 is a $1200 upgrade, or option, offered by Polaris dealers. It integrates with the Ride Command that is standard on the Ultimate. So if you buy an Ultimate, you will get the ride command with an audio set up. If you want to improve the sound of that standard set up, you’ll have to pay an extra $1200. i think they have a less expensive upgrade; I’m not familiar with that. The stage 4 is their top package.

I noticed in my ride command account online that they had a update for the Audio DSP Improvement in a update. My ride command locked up the other day while out for a ride, but when i shut off the machine and restarted it was fine, My dealer said to keep the ride command up to date and it should be, it was he has noticed on previous ride commands. It was easy to update download to a thumbdrive then hook it to the machine and update. I don't know how well it improves it a little cold here today it is only 2 degrees.

I bought the Ultimate 4-seater and installed a bunch of accessories, including the heavy and slippery Subwoofer. My RZR already had tweeters, front speakers and rear speakers (one covers the coolant bottle access). Does this mean mine is now “Stage 4”? Or is there something else to include? Mine also has the 7 button Ride Command and I updated firmware (dated Dec ‘19, I believe). The subwoofer was a huge improvement in sound quality....not that my 63 year old ears have anything close to “audiophile” sensitivity anymore.

I believe you have the stage 4 upgrade because that includes the rear speakers. The stage 3 has the sub woofer without the rear speakers. That’s what I read on the Polaris website where you can build your pro with accessories. This is what I copied from their site: The Stage 4 Audio Upgrade by Rockford Fosgate® pumps up the volume with top quality sound built specifically for your ORV. The upgrade features a 400-watt amplifier, a 10 in. subwoofer and 50W coaxial 6.5 in. speakers. This audio upgrade has everything you need to rock out in the back woods or use your vehicle as a mobile entertainment center. The kit’s IP67 rating delivers water resistance and dust protection making sure the music doesn’t stop.

The Dec ‘19 was the last update that I am aware of and it corrected the problem of too much bass. If you check your audio settings, the bass setting will be approximately in the middle to sound right. If you find that you need less bass and can’t decrease the setting any more, then you don’t have the update. At least that’s what I found with my pro and heard from others that that’s what the update corrected. There is a new update expected to be released in February. I heard that update will increase the volume available.

Thanks, EZ
I’m thinking the Ultimate should’ve included the subwoofer. Maybe it’s not any easier to install during factory assembly than what I went through and they deemed it not cost effective! The magic number of wood blocks and cuss words finally held it where I could fasten it to the dash. I then realized I couldn’t plug the cable in when it was all the way into position and had to backtrack. (Louder cuss words!)

I just got this from a friend who works for Polaris....
Hey RZR PRO XP Owners. We just released a new software update for the Rockford Fosgate audio system. It increases output of the system, retunes the subwoofer and adds gain for the rear speakers in the 4 Pass or Stage 4 Systems!
It is downloadable via USB for install on your Ride Command.

I got chance to ride my pro xp a week ago, my opinion the upgrade didn't help much. I rode down county roads, i just didn't have to turn it as much but still had it turned on 9 on the volume. i did a 15-20 minute survey today for polaris online and let them know i was not impressed with the stereo.
