Any of the 2011s giving you guys any problems? Took mine out for the first good ride the other day and it boiled over the rad, the check engine light came on(110 code), and one of the vent lines got against the exhaust and melted.
Mine does this to, but everything inside the cover seems normal. Thinking thats just the nature of it.I must have got a Friday built machine. So far : driver side rear axle pops out - primary clutch makes the most awful ear piercing sound when disengaging - clutch belt wearing through cover - transmission difficult to engage gears / grinding noises ( related to the clutch issues I'm guessing ) brakes rattle - some other very annoying rattle coming from rear somewhere. I still love the thing but this is rediculous for a machine with 15 hours on it. Dealer bound next week.
Its not a heat shield that is melting its the plastic framework that the motor cover latches too. It is not protected by a heat shield, i added a small piece of flat aluminum behind mine to stop this from getting worse.when these heat sheilds are melting, are you guys on long rides running at mid-range temperature for long periods? or running them fairly hot?
