Any of the 2011s giving you guys any problems? Took mine out for the first good ride the other day and it boiled over the rad, the check engine light came on(110 code), and one of the vent lines got against the exhaust and melted.

Glad to hear nothing major. No problems with mine. Well except for one of the front wheels is toed out now. Not sure which side it is since its not a quad with handle bars. It seems like the steering wheel may have never been aligned correctly as when I straighten it out neither wheel is 100% centered.

I have a post on a similar noise but it was/is coming from the clutch. They said its normal. If it is at costing with no brake applied from about 10mph to 0. Its the sheeves and belt. It doesnt happen while I'm in the sand and if you apply the brake it goes away as well.

Several other 2011s that I rode with did the same thing.

The only issue I've had is the doesnt want to go into High all the time. I'll have to pull the shifter back with a decent amount of force. Feels like the cable is binding up somewhere. I'll have to pull the center console and take a peek at it.

I believe I would get with the dealer and let them know what you found on your boil over just in case there is engine damage that shows up later. I would even get them to write it down, call Polaris and make a copy of everything with names and dates. If your luck is like mine, the day after the warranty expires would be when a damaged engine showed its ugly head!! Better safe than sorry.

I've had a couple issues on my 2011, the melting behind the seat and the maybe the "ignition wire harness" which its in the shop for now.
Dealers don't seem to know much about this problem yet.

I ordered the heat shield fix from Thunderhawk Performance for my melting problem. My melting was a whole lot worse than the pictures in the previous post.

I must have got a Friday built machine. So far : driver side rear axle pops out - primary clutch makes the most awful ear piercing sound when disengaging - clutch belt wearing through cover - transmission difficult to engage gears / grinding noises ( related to the clutch issues I'm guessing ) brakes rattle - some other very annoying rattle coming from rear somewhere. I still love the thing but this is rediculous for a machine with 15 hours on it. Dealer bound next week.

Mine does this to, but everything inside the cover seems normal. Thinking thats just the nature of it.

wow guys... i have yet to pick my 2011 up from ordering it a couple weeks ago and am getting nervous on all the issues.

surely the warranty will cover all issues brought up to date and do not sound bad but if i am on a big weekend, it will seriously dampen it considerably.

sounds like i need to get 30-40 hours on it asap to verify any problems.

when these heat sheilds are melting, are you guys on long rides running at mid-range temperature for long periods? or running them fairly hot?

Its not a heat shield that is melting its the plastic framework that the motor cover latches too. It is not protected by a heat shield, i added a small piece of flat aluminum behind mine to stop this from getting worse.

I have somewhere around 300 miles on mine and no problems except for winter is coming and I want more summer weather to ride in!

I just got a new 2011 rzr s. After reading all the posts with only 30 miles on my new toy. My vent lines have started to melt, but no issues with the rear panel on the passengers side.

I replaced the vent lines with a much better hose 300+ degree resistant and then rerouted them and wrapped them in the areas of concern with heat shield tape rated for 2000 deg. Picked everything up at auto zone.

I am concerned about the rear panel, would like to take care of it before it happens.
What has been the dealers fix? Was looking at it and thought about making a heat shield for that area, but i wanted to see what other people are doing.

By far this is one of the best toys i have ever had nothing but smiles :)

Thanks for the help and advice

Kevin
