I wanted a reverse light on my 22' PXP4 for both sight when backing up and also for a rear light to see into the bed and as a utility light when needed.

This is not an advertisement, Just figured others maybe looking for something like this.

I saw there where a few posts where people had made one with limit switches, but I really wanted a more plug and play option.

I Found the Powermadd RZR -General reverse light kit 66008 Amazon.com

it was generally plug and play.
non-plug and play options I took
1. I decided to purchase a pulse bar plug and wire that up as the power source. Amazon.com
2. I decided not to use the provided round on/off rocker switch, and used a 7 pin that matched my other switches and would fit in the accessory panel. (Power wire goes to pin 2, and the Ground wire goes to pin 3) Amazon.com
3. I also decided to use a 14" light bar in place of the provided light (I wanted it really bright!) Amazon.com

Other than fishing the wires through the console it was simple to wire up, it uses a plug into the transmission where it recognizes when you are in reverse, but also allows for you to use the bi-pass switch for when you need the rear light.

I purchased this though my local dealer, because I had a credit with them. but can also be purchased online.

Nice find!! I have been wanting to do something like this for a while. The link to the Powermadd is incorrect. Here is the correct link: PowerMadd > Polaris > Polaris RZR and General Reverse LED Light Kit - 66008

thank you I have also been looking for something like this to add an automatic reverse light. if you snapped some pictures that would be awesome! like where you mounted the reverse light and other ideas you had.

Nice work on the install this looks great! I had a Polaris General before the Pro XP and it had pre wired pig tails on top of the engine for a backup beeper. I have been looking for an automatic reverse light setup for these machines for awhile now and am excited for what we can figure out from this kit. Great find!

@Arcticzale: I will be following your progress closely with the homemade method and looking to replicate your results. Please let me know if I can be of any assitance as you are working through the solution.

Sorry for the delay, have been preoccupied with some other projects. I can confirm that it is a Delphi MetriPack 150 for the connector.

The only concern I have as I go into this is what voltage changes are between gears, doing this alone will make it harder to get readings but it will likely require a microvolt relay to work properly. I'm wired for reverse lights through a dash switch (+12v) and am going to see if I can rewire to relay from the transmission gear output and maintain function of the dash switch. Should be able to narrow this down soon.

Bit of a thread revival here but I am looking to tap into a reverse indicator on the trans for some lights I've already mounted on my '22 Pro XP Ultimate. I got creative and made them look as factory as possible. These are primarily for letting the guy behind me on the trail or parking lot or whatever know that "hey, I'm backing up". They do put off a little light for backing in close quarters but for anything more than that I will add a mini light bar. I'm currently running these off a dash switch, and that's the catch - remembering to turn them on or off.

They draw hardly any amperage at all so I am hoping if I could just tie directly into that transmission plug directly for power and then repurpose my dash switch for a mini light bar.

I would probably build a jumper using a set of Delphi MetriPack 150 plugs vs just tapping into the wire. But curious if this would even work? No relay required, no reprogramming, etc.
