Hello,
I have had this happen a few times. It's happened only a few time but I put the machine into 2 wheel H to take off and you hear a sound like a grinding and it is not in gear. You move the handle to park and back into H and no more issues after that. Well, yesterday I was cruising at around 30 mph, and coasting to a stop at a view point when it started making that noise again until I came to a complete stop. I placed it into Park then back in H and it was fine again.
What could be causing this is my question. I thought of a linkage issue. Any thoughts?

I took a look at my linkage and everything looks tight
You have to adjust it, not look at it.

This is classic of the linkage not being adjusted correctly. The trans will pop out of gear on deceleration because the linkage is not fully engaged in the detent.
