Any chance there is a broken or loose motor mount?

 

Have someone rev up the motor. Watch to see if it is torquing over or moving around thus putting undue pressure on the exhaust system.

 

My 2011 broke in the same place. ATV_GURU welded back together and so far so good. My header pipe has broke twice. 1st time I rewelded it and put a patch over it. 6or 7 rides later it broke just past the patch. Guess I need to look at mounts also. But I doubt the way the exaust is mounted that a broken mount would cause the problem.

 

The shop said they put everything new, muffler, rubber groments and bushings and said its fixed like new as if it had just come from the factory. I will look it over my self an make sure something isn't loose or broken. I'm hopeing to get some riding in this weekend since its been broke bout 3 weeks an couldn't ride. Hopefully she will last this time wish me luck........

 

Found the problem on my 2011. Dropped the skid plates and found both nuts on the studs bolting tranny to engine were missing letting the motor rock up and down quite a bit. Glad it was missing nuts and not broken casing.

Sorry I haven't been on here in awhile. I checked it and it didn't rock back an forth to bad but it's got one hell of a rattle/vibration. It gets really bad when your driving an you give it bout 3/4 throttle it sounds so bad and don't really know where it's comin from. An when you rocked the motor how hard did you pry on it?

 

Not very hard at all. You can drop the skid pan and look to see if the nuts on the studs are backed off or missing.

 

Maybe its time to see if you can get a Polaris rep involved to get a new machine. Almost sounds like a lemon.

I know this is an older thread but figured I'd search prior to making new post. Did you ever find the problem? Has anyone else had this problem? I took my rear differential out and while taking everything apart found the pipe had broken away at the weld from the muffler itself. Took it the weld shop and it's ready to go back in. I checked my mounts and everything looks good.
