I know there are many out there that know the answer to this.. What special tools are needed to tear down and do a complete rebuild of the rzr 800 engine? Im trying to get everything we need to start doing this ourselves. We have the basics ofcourse including torque wrenches. But what specific specialty tools will be needed to do the 800 engines. Any and all input is appreciated, thanks !! :ride:

A (3) finger gear puller, digital micrometer and calipers... Metric and Standard tools...
I have all of the above...well, maybe not the right puller, but im guessing it wouldnt need to be a polaris specific puller...
No a any good (3) finger puller will work... Doesn't have to be Polaris tool...

I do have the shop manuals. I persanally am not a mechanic. My main mechanic spends more time guiding , and driving our shuttle than mechanicing, so Im trying to get a jump start and get everything he needs to get started.. He is a harley mechanic, so im hoping he can convert to polaris mechanic quickly lol

Damn... I need to get working on that 800 rebuild Wiki :) No real "special tools". You need a variety of tools, but nothing from Polaris per se. When I think special tools, I think manufacturer specific. None required.

Do you have the shop manual Tory?

You'll need a cylinder bore gauge, I'd get a real primary clutch removal tool, a real torque wrench (large and small), a quality micrometer...can't really thing of any other tools you need. There are a number of parts you'll need to order... I'm sure somebody else will pipe up with something else...
