What differences are there between a turbo 1000 engine and a non-turbo 1000 engine?

Hello, looking for a motor for a 2015 XP 1000 non-turbo car and I found a rebuilt turbo motor for a decent price. Can the turbo motor be used in my non-turbo car or does it have different cams and other things that won’t allow it to work? Thanks.

One is a 925 cc with a turbo. The other is 999cc with out a turbo. Different wiring harnesses, transmissions are stronger, computers are different, exhaust is different, intake is different.

Thanks for the details, the seller was trying to tell me they were the same motor and I figured they were different.

Entirely different engines and the Turbo has forged internals vs cast in the 1k. It's more than just the engine that is different between the two. Turbo has much beefer drivetrain, larger brakes, larger cooling system, etc....and a lot more power.

BTW, you can't build a 1k NA to even be in the same class power wise as a turbo engine. There is virtually zero turbo lag.

Or just get the N/A 2000cc 225HP 4 cylinder and blow by the Turbo's.

I would proceed with caution with a engine builder that is claiming the same engine for a turbo build vs a NA build. Would need a lot more detail on what they did if it is in fact a 1K motor built to take a turbo. Polaris put out a good video explaining the turbo upgrades for the 181HP 925 CC turbo that touches on some of the differences between the turbo and the 1000 NA motor. Some considrdible differences between the factory 1K and factory turbo motors beyond the turbo and if clamming a factory turbo motor is the same as a factory 1K run don’t walk away and find a different engine builder.
