The weep hole is there to let you know that your water pump seal is leaking. Yours is already leaking so pluging it can only make matters worse.

However, some have suggested that the weep hole allows dust in that works on the seal to cause it to prematurely leak....and will suggest to plug it with grease to keep dust out..

If it ain't leaking bad I would leave it alone- mine has dribbled for three years. I've been meaning to fix it but just been lazy about it.

It's really no big deal. Now water in the oil is a big deal but that would be your oil seal. And Tim is right , that seal will fail if you plug the weep hole

Hydrolock is when water sucked from the intake ....

in the oil sump hopefully not doing damage ...

I rebuilt the top of my engine ... I tried it again just 20 minutes ... then rechecked oil level and it was high and water came out from the pump vent ...

However, the water pump has not been removed during the rebuild ... I do not understand how did you break the seal ..

before the reconstruction always on the lookout oil before riding ever been in. .. and oil pan ... and never lost the pump pump water from the vent ...

sorry for my english ....

was there any water in your oil? The oil will be milky white if there is water in it. The water pump seal failing and water comming out the weep hole is totally un related to your top end build...prob just by chance it started to leak water at the same time.
