Keep the oil on the high side of the safe zone.

 

oh ok thanks guys...im gonna change the oil hopefully sometime this week and see if that helps...i really hope it does because i haven't even gotten one good ride out of it yet

im not sure what rpm its at when it cuts out but i'll drive it around a little bit and see if i can figure it out

 

Check your oil level first before you ride it again.

 

I had a leaking exhuast gasket between the pipe and head and it sounded just like valve noise.I kept checking my oil and it was fine.After awhile I could see a black spot where it was leaking.The new gasket was like 30 bux.It was a expensive little gasket.But it fixed the problem and noise.The key is to tighten the gasket then heat the engine up and tighten it again.But if the gasket was leaking you need a new one.

 

We have had it happen twice loss of power and motor cuts out

that actually happen to me as well, thats when i relized these little bastards eat ol up

 

Take a look at your MAP sensor.

1- Remove air filter
2- Spray some (Sensor Safe CRC cleaner-purchase @ Autozone) into the air inlet and on the map sensor
3- Re-check your problem

Make sure the intake boot is connected to the throttle body. You can see it from the right rear of the vehicle. Mine came off and sucked sand then started the old suburu tick.

 

Wow not to steal your thread but the same exact thing happened to me this weekend as well. The question I have if there was internal damage would not there be shavings or a burnt smell to the oil?

 

No damage the dealer had just rebuilt the topend and did not change or top off the oil believe it or not. the motor has another 700miles since this happened with no issues.
