Alright rzr 900 owners I am looking to buy a new 2014 xp4 900 and I want to know what are the issues with the 900s.
Such as air intake, belt or suspension issues. Anything really.

I have a 2012 XP4 LE and have not had any issues in first 700 miles. We ride California desert and dunes both. No problems with the air box seal but I do use pre-filters on vents and it does reduce dirt/sand getting to filter.

I think the air box lip. You need to make sure you get the lid on good at the bottom. Do not let any dirt in. Second is high centering. You hit right under the rear seat cross member. I am thinking about using some angle to box this in. Or you could buy a HD skid plate. If you ride in the woods, built some tree bumpers on the side and rear finders. That's about it. I am adding a Polaris stage kit and taller tires,

Racer Tech or any other shock manufactuers med rate or stiffer springs solve this problem. Once you load the stock machine with (4) people it drops 3 inches and the spring rate is way off so you can bottom out or scrape real easy. With the after market springs installed, it only drops an inch or so and the spring rate reacts properly to stop most of those issues.

Just to keep adjustments clear for everyone, that's "pre-load" you're referring to and not compression. You do compress the spring more or less when adjusting the pre-load but the actual compression is adjusted with the clicker knob on the top of the shock. I have a '13 xp 4 and the suspension is way too stiff for normal trail riding, it comes set up for dune riding stock. This is my biggest complaint of the machine. Love it otherwise.

I haven't had problems with mine, I did full skids DMC intake gasket right off the bat. Time to ride now Corey!! I can show ya some good crawling around Barstow! I have had to set the ride height a few times due to added weight and sag.

Ill get the gasket ill call mark in a lil bit hopefully he'll be in. Going to have to get skids and rock crawling radius arms

I bought a 2014 and haven't been able to use it once. due to some throttle sensor. Dealer has had it twice and not fixed it properly. Do not yet know if this is a common issue, but I read it was common on some 2013s. needless to say I'm not happy at the moment

My only problem was the air box seal and I handled that with a Double Down Intake and Super Seal Kit from Desert Molding Concepts.

Over 1500 miles on my '12 with zero issues. It's been THE best toy I've ever bought, with a huge fun factor that includes the family. I'll be looking to upgrade the springs this year, though, as I've seen the same sag and easy bottom tendencies the last 500 miles. I've only changed fluids and air filter. Great machine!!

My 2014 900 4 with 15hrs currently in the shop. Check engine light comes on as soon as i hit the gas then the engine cuts out. Funny thing is the dealer cant recreate the issue and says it is working fine and they have ran it for more than 2hrs. Is this the throttle cable sensor you guys are referring to could be the problem?

Just wanted everyone to know. Since I sold my arctic cat and bought a used 2013 xp4 900, I have not had any issues. Over 500 miles in the dunes and zero issues. I am so happy I made the switch to Polaris ! Happy guy right here !

The front shocks seem to be jacked up a bit much and the rears look to be in a good spot.

I have a 2012, ran it for two seasons now. Noticed that the front diff is leaking on the right side axle seal. Searched a bit and few others with the same issue. Read its a $70 fix as Polaris only sells the seals as a kit even though you only need one.
