Tree through the floor

A tree branch came through the passenger floor. I'm sure I'm not the first, so what have you done, replace the floor or patch it? The hole is about 4".

I have had it happen twice. Once on drivers side and once on passenger side. The one on drivers side pinned my right foot back against the seat base and gave me a pretty good scar on my ankle. The one on the passenger side just missed my wifes leg. Both came through saem where the floor meets the fire wall and left no holes. There are some aluminum fender well protectors on e-bay that would help with what happened to mine.

My front tire threw large rock thru my 2015 RZR XP4 floor board last weekend! It scared the shit out of my brother-in-law who had his foot on the portion of the floor where the rock hit. He had a pretty nasty bruise on the bottoms of his foot a few hours after our ride. Is this a common problem? How do I go about fixing the hole?

Sorry to hear about that. Anything suddenly coming through the floor or firewall would scare me too! I am glad he is okay.

Personally, I think a rock coming through like in your case just should not happen. But...it did. I would piece it in with a plastic welder if I couldn't get it fixed under warranty (hey...you never know). I think the plastic in that area is too brittle/thin/weak or something. How big was the rock?

On mine that I plastic welded all the material was still there...just jagged. My son put a boot against it in the cab and pushed it out. The hole was as big as your fist, but with some heat it all went back. If you lost plastic, I think I would scab on some aluminum.

To those that talk about skid plates, mine was through the fender well, not from the bottom. I wish someone would sell.an aluminum fitted fender well guard. Those trees aim right for your crotch!!!

I had that happen to me once on the passenger side, luckily no one was sitting there, it hit on the bend in the floor where it meets the fire wall, all I had to do was push it back into place no damage. :)

Thanks for the advice on fixing the hole. I am thinking of buying some diamond plate and rivoting it to the floor on each side where this happened. I found a place online (cut2size.com) that will send you precut panels.

The rock was about the size of your fist. It was jagged and kicked up with great force from the front tire. I was in 4 wheel drive and trying to navigate a corner with speed when it happened.

I had one almost come in the driver side, it lifted the floor board under my feet a few inches and then broke off... thank god. Scared the hell out me, I was going slow under 10 MPH and it just found that one spot between the factory skid and the floor boards.

Few weeks later I put a full 1/2" skid from Ricochet on mine.

Had a really bad incursion through the floor and sill plate area 5 years ago on the 800. Could have been really bad injury, but I just got lucky. I just installed the Boesch Built plates on my 900 S. I feel a lot better now.
They are a First Class product, with a one page color instruction sheet & stainless hardware. Paint/powder coat was excellent. The site says they fit the 1K, but I had to do a little trimming and add a few mounting holes to fit correctly. Touched up the bare metal with some Krylon rattle can bed spray to prevent rust. No big deal in my shop.
