Have I kept up? Bump/ fifth. Decided bumper. Now with 350/duals considering bigger fifth.

My input only relates to fifth axle flipping. I'm on my third fifth since 86.(I'm also old) The first was not flipped, then with a class A (req to tow 2 trailers in calif.) the axles were flipped. Did not notice top heavy or any other problem. Then towed double with air ride on Automate fifth (allowed height control). Now with a 2003 Tahoe toy hauler fifth with 8 bolt hubs,shocks,16" wheels, axel's flipped. with RZR loaded trailers at 12000lbs. Pushing 14' high. It is of note that I tow with a short bed Cummins. I like plenty of bed clearance because I get off road in 4 wheel drive.

In my experience flipping the axle's(lifting trailer some 4") does nothing to diminish the handling or ride characteristics of a Fifth wheel

Here's my 2 cents...
5th wheel is WAY better to tow. It's sturdy, stable and generally has more room as well as usually a separate garage/living quarters (separated by a wall and door).

I don't want to piss anyone off on here that own a Fuzion but I would take a real close look at it before buying it. Here's why:
I bought a Fuzion 2 years ago and wondered why it was cheaper than most other 5th wheels yet had more high-end stuff like electric stabilizers, power awning, flat screen HD tv etc. etc. It wasn't more than about 2 months I figured out why. It was so cheaply made the more I looked into it the more I couldn't believe it was still standing on the wheels it came on. Things started falling apart and falling off within the 2nd trip and I was constantly fixing their poor craftsmanship. I got so upset with it I contacted Fuzion, sent pictures and had my lawyer contact them until they gave me a refund for the trailer.

That's my 2 cents but hey, it might have been just my trailer. Bottom line, do a thorough examination of it before buying.

The quality of the Fuzions has improved vastly. They are now one of the best made and best selling toy haulers on the market. To bad the bad customer relations/service seems to be low still. I'm going through an issue with them now. Trailer is well built, but not enough tounge weight when loaded. They put all the heavy crap behind the rear axle. :( Anyways, waiting to see how they handle my case. Hope I don't have to involve a lawyer. I will if needed though.

I've got a 33' Tahoe Transport bumper pull. I have never had any sway issues and feel that the weight distribution is dead on. I've got airbags on the truck, but it may be one of the rare long bumper pulls that tows great!

I posted on a fifth earlier. I have heard more positive comments on bumper pulls over the years with new weight dist. hitches. I think air bags are a plus with a bumper pull. With my fifth I payed to put them on and take them off. They were some help loaded, but air out with no load I didn't like the ride. Rancho shocks on 9 loaded and 1 empty gives me the best of rides in each situation.

It may not be the same with a dually. With my truck I want a car like ride on many trips. Suspension for off road on some and for a 2000 lb pin weight on others.

Some body posted their 26' bumper pull would go places a fifth wouldn't. Lets see they would be longer than my 30' can't turn almost 90, I can,(or unhook reposition and hookup quickly) and I doubt their attack angles match mine. I'm 10-11" between the bed and fifth. In trees my height might be a problem though.

Pick a good rig though, most important use it and enjoy!

I posted that you can't get a 5ther if you don't believe come on up to Utah and Idaho. Yeah you can turn sharper on flat ground try doing going up or down a hill your bedrails won't like you.

I understand the bed rail problem. So with trailer axels reversed ,16" wheels and much more space between the fifth and the bed, I go off road. With weight dist hitch does it handle large up or down hill motion? I think at some point we will both encounter a problem with any trailer.
