I searched the forums and didnt really see anything pertaining to this.. But I was wondering if any of you have had your rear windshields tinted or your half from windshields. I realize you can buy ones with tint already on them from super atv but I like the lock and ride from Polaris better than the ones with a nut and bolt to tighten. I was just curious if any of you have put any tint on your lock and ride windshields? I'm not even for sure if it will stay on the poly..?

Thanks.

I don't see why it wouldn't stick to poly. The down side to poly is depending on where you ride it will eventually get all scratched up and need to be replaced. I've made a frame for the front and rear of mine and will be installing DOT glass in it and plan on tinting the rear and top portion of the front. Other than one of them getting broken there should never be a reason to have to replace them. If they get a little scratched I can always buff them out. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think you can buff poly.

I was trying to negate your choice of material. Almost everyone runs poly windshields on there machines I even put one on my wife's and it got some small scratchs in it just trying to mount it. Guess I shoulda asked for help. The one I got for my wife's retailed for $320.00 but with my discount it was only $250.00. If I can't cut my own glass I'm going to have to pay around $300.00 in stalled to the glass shop. So don't really see glass being more expensive just more durable but either one you go with should be able to be tinted.

I have not done anything. Just threw up my rear windshield last night and that was an adventure. So I doubt I ever take it down unless it breaks somehow.

Put the rear windshield on the tailgate of my truck while I attempted to put on the lock and ride clamps. That was a nightmare alone. Those b****es wouldn't go on for nothing. Maybe there is a trick that I do not know if.. but in attempting to get those clamps on and hold down the windshield it was sliding around a little on my tailgate which I thought nothing of until I put it up on the rzr and it is literally scratched to crap. Looks like a little kid drew with crayons on a wall but they're scratches on my windshield ..

I'm thinking putting some tint on on rear windshield would hide some of those scratches but idk if I want to put anymore money in it or not.
