And would that keep it from cranking ?

 

did You just pull the oil pump or did you pull off any other gears.
if you just pulled the oil pump it can go back together any way, no alignment.
does the engine roll over by hand

 

I pulled the cam gear off. And it turns over fine but pops and puffs like It is out of time.

 

So it could be set to tdc on wrong cylinder at the compression stroke.?

 

If he swapped plug wires would this temporary fix the popping issue

 

As long as the dots on the crank, balance shaft and camshaft line up it's right.

 

I know I had the dots lined up. So it can't be wrong if there lined up?

 

The cps reads tdc on compression #1 correct?

 

I'm just at a loss. Idk what is wrong with it. New wiring harness,cps,fuel pump.new plugs. Still huffs and pops no start.compression 155 both

 

Just a thought, crossed plug or injector wires. Since it is a parallel cylinder I don't know if it would make a difference but worth a looksie.

 

I know I have tried the plugs but injectors pulse at the same time.

Ecu? No I wish I had someone near to just try without buying one. They are expensive.

 

Could the battery be causing this. It might be goin weak

 

Does it sound like it has a healthy crank? Probably not the battery. It's hard to keep track of what you've already tried.
Coils, ecu and tps are areas you should look into imo.

Same. Wasn't running when I got it.

 

Ok I guess it all started when the guy was driving it and it shut off. He put a bunch of amazon stuff on it. I've replaced the cps,fuel pump and wiring harness. I fixed the stuck prv valve. I just scored a parts rzr 800 so now I have a extra ecu,factory injectors and another coil pack. To try. Compression was good. But the amazon parts are making me wonder. So I hope going back to factory parts will help. It turns over fine just huffs and puffs with occasional backfire. Im gonna put a new battery in it due to how it keeps going down.

 

I would check your tps. Back prob with paper clips and throw a multi meter on it. Any slight movement of the position of the tps will throw it out of wack. Can’t remember off the top of my head what the reading should be. Search for it and you should find instructions on how to read and adjust it.
Also make sure all your throttle body boots are tight and no cracks. With it running spray some either around them. If your rpms change it is a good indication of a leak. Good luck. Be sure to post up your outcome for future interweb travelers
