Maybe try the new turbo chain guide? I have one on mine just because it look so much nicer. It looks to hold the chain much better.

I had a 900xp with the same problem. The chain was streched.

 

were you able to change the timing chain without removing the motor? Or did the dealer do it? What was the cost?

 

Curious what the outcome was of this. And how did you know it was off?

 

Yes the chains do stretch. When I rebuilt my 900 the stretch was almost half a link. The CAM chain handles this because it has a tensioner, but the oil pump chain has NO tensioner. So if you rebuild you should ALWAYS replace both chains. My oil pump chain was stretched so much that the chain was hitting the case. It caused a groove in the case. Luckily I caught it before it broke. Would have destroyed engine.
