Many know of the trouble that has happened with Our RZR over the last 5 months . Sorry to tell everyone that going to trade in the RZR.
Just the facts needs to be known and no bitter Statements !

1. Have been fighting to title RZR since Aug of last year.
2. Have paid all tax,, paid off , have clear MSO
3. Have paid Lawyer 500 dollars to try to title...at least Lawyer did get dealership to get 99% of paid for add-ons . Still waiting on Spare tire holder.
4. Lawyer found out what was told to me was right.

To clear up the above:
State of Ohio changed the law in 2005 on title of some All Purpose Vehicles . Since we are farm state big time , Other manfuctures of UTV's wanted to forego title for this type of equipment. UTV is class with anything with " BED" hence MSO has RANGER/RZR on the MSO. Full size RANGER has bed ...Bingo ...RZR into full size ranger.
We went to Putnam county title office and tried to get it titled. They saw " RANGER/RZR" on MSO and said "sorry can't title". OK know many in Ohio have titled PLEASE read before jumping with reply.
So asked them to look at picture in Polaris RZR manufactures booklet.Showed them " only trail 50" type made" So them called OHIO COLUMBUS HEAD DMV office. Next thing they asked me to give them MSO and needed to photo copy MSO and FAX it to them in COLUMBUS PER THIER ORDERS. When this was done was told to call in 2 hours. We called Columbus and talked to very nice man ; which understood ,our trouble. Was told sorry it has BED and cannot be titled. Told this person of 3 that I know have title and APV sticker on their RZR. He stated that yes many have been titled and the state is AWARE of this. Asked him why can't I "GRANDFATHER " SINCE OTHERS HAVE TITLED RZR? Sorry can't allow that too. Asked how some can and others can't ? Well the STATE HAS SENT out memo on RZR to all counties in OHIO. it's how each person in county understands this Memo. State of OHIO has told POLARIS ;that as long as, MSO has RANGER on it : no title. The bed is key here for 2005 law change. But with one or two states that has this LAW: POLARIS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO CHANGE MSO.
Yes can go to Jackson county and get title. So for the ones that say do it. If state knows of RZR in counties that are titled and since they denied mine. What about 3 years down the road and go to renew OHIO APV sticker and get denied? THEN WHAT ? Yes very nice dealer in Jackson ohio even called friend in DMV there and offered to help get it titled. But with what was told to our Lawyer and us fom STATE DMV...think better to trade and lose money now...than later.
Don't want to send wrong message here to the OHIO ones that have titled RZR and stickers. Just be aware that :
1. OHIO DMV is AWARE of this
2. keep open ear on laws that change behind closed doors In Ohio State Capital.
3. since some counties follow memo ,others don't... find dealer that has title in hand before money down. Jackson Polaris yes...American Power Sports Findlay....No they will hand You MSO and good Luck.

Wife loved her Polaris 06 450 Sportsman so much she told me this" Yes I will buy off Jackson Polaris dealership " " And I'll have another Sportsman from them...You on the other hand can get something else for yourself..but no Banshee !" Well Thanks to Jackson DEALERSHIP all has ended ..just took bath of 8000 in last year that's all. At least everything we own is paid for!! Live and learn folks ..Please keep this in mind on buying RZR in OHIO. Find county that is ATV friendly or can't read !! LOL
Thanks for the great Forum and will look in time to time.
Looking forward to riding Wayne National Pine Creek in Spring with wife

Sorry to hear about all your problems. Rather than bend laws to include the Rzr I'd like to see some brand new laws that allow any 4-wheeled machine capable or exceeding 25mph to drive on backroads and the shoulder of main roads (but NOT the interstates!). You'd think with the price of gas zooming up there would be more interest in this issue. In MI there are a growing number of counties that already allow ORVs to operate on the roads and this is a huge help in getting from trail to trail or to get gas/food, etc. These counties do it for tourism dollars, not for the environment. These are local county ordinances--they need to be made state LAW.
Just shows that MONEY TALKS and lawmakers listen.

I imagine that differs by locality also. You can do this in MI if you want to get plated for on-road use but there are many silly hurdles that seem intended to just discourage you from even trying. Example: Differential. Vehicle can't have a locked diff for road use and the Rzr does. You can probably find an officer who will inspect your Rzr and not notice or care what TYPE diff is in there. You'll get your plate but you won't technically be legal. There is no legal basis for this requirement--just words someone at the DMV added to a checklist. Trying to get that checklist changed would be like squeezing water from a rock.

Thanks Guy !! For explanation! We chatted sometime ago...asked about your nice White Ridgerunner. Knew that I was fighting a losing battle that could only end this way. Yes could retitle...change things ..Heck that would be a lot easier then building a National Winning Ford Ranger Show Truck for the Ford Show Truck Circuit in 1996 which I did. Guy is right... there comes a time to just walk away and count your losses. Not to offend Anyone...Just tired of fighting..we fought a good fight ...lick wounds and go forth with a new project.
