Have a 2020 rzr 900s and looking for spare tire holder. Been looking at tusk but would like to know what people like

I had a UTV inc holder and the welds started cracking so I rewelded it and about 2 years later it broke off at the other end of the mount while I was on a trail. Luckily we tracked back and found it. Also found a tire and wheel about 100yds of a road and it still had a chunk or cage on the mount so now I have mine on the roof. The weight of the wheel and tire will, I think, eventually break any mount so have a secondary attachment method so you don't loose your spare.

I have the Tusk spare tire mount on my 2020 S 1000. It's a solid mount that has 3 mounting points. Two on the rear upper rollbar and one on the rollbar just behind the seats. I've only had it about 6 months and so far no issues. I was concerned that it might my block rear vision. It does to some extent, but I can still see the road behind me. I would purchase it again.

My vote goes to leave it in your truck and carry plugs, sm compressor and Slime. If you can't fix it with that it's probably done for any way so limping back to the truck won't be the end of the world or have a buddy grab it if you're in a bad spot.
They are a lot of high weight and usually in the way no matter where it's mouted.
I'm not saying it's wrong to carry a spare at all, just giving you another option. Knock on wood but so far I've never needed to have my spare.

The very first time I took my RZR out, within 10 miles, I got a small branch in the side wall of a front tire. Didn't have anything with me and by myself. Made it home ok, but tire was almost flat. I went out and got a plug kit, ordered my spare tire carrier and spare tire. I haven't noticed any difference in ride or handling with the tire mounted. Much better piece of mind. I do carry a small compressor, but changing the tire is my first choice.

I’ve had 2 tire failures I had Ride on balancer and sealant from Rocky Mount ATV/MC tire plugs never work too big of a punctures. Lucky the first flat was on the main dirt road hitchhiked a ride to get the truck and trailer. Second time I had a flat also also a spare, on a rocky trail out in the middle of nowhere, if I would’ve had to limp back home with a flat the aluminum casting wheel would crumble Break into pieces like an egg, custom built by RYFAB.com

unless wheels were steel you could limp back home.

The comment about not carrying a spare is all good until you're an hour out amd you barely made it there with 4 good tires and something happens.

I use the assault industries adventure rack. Great design but a frw things could definitely be improved. I got a good deal on it. What I know now, I'd go with a similar design from someone else. Otherwise it does it's job.

I don't like the mounts that put the tire up high

I don't carry one, but I don't ride alone either. Buddy has a hitch carrier and has the tire strapped to keep from stressing the carrier welds.

I hope it gives you what you want. They seem to have good quality Chinese products that are affordable.

I got a tusk spider nut socket and it seems like good quality... however i had to do some light filing to get it to fit the nut.

Let us know your thoughts after you get it. I imagine it will serve it's purpose well
