Software update issues

Last week I updated my 2019 turbo s Ride Command with the recent update. Everything seemed to work great (new display is badass!) but after about an hour of riding I started to notice my fuel gauge never dropped. After another 1.5 of riding I continued to see 100% on the fuel gauge. At one point I was riding down steep terrain and saw the digital gauge drop 1 bar. After getting to the bottom of the terrain it went back to 100%. After returning home I fueled up around 3 gallons so I know the tank wasn’t 100%. Went out again this weekend and the gauge never dropped below 100% and I drove twice the distance from my previous ride. Also, my elevation show 0 feet above sea level. I live and ride in Las Vegas....Anyone know if there is a software glitch or something else?

After looking again at this image I knew the elevation is off since this photo was taken in Las Vegas and not ocean side 😅 but I can also see my ‘heading’ is showing North when I’m heading south towards pioneer saloon. I’m think there has to be an issue with the update. Any recommendations on what I should do to correct the problem?

We are in Vegas as well. Ours seems to be working ok on the elevation. The fuel gauge does seem to stay on 100% for a long time before it starts dropping. Haven't payed attention as to when it starts dropping. I have noticed that the low fuel warning comes on at 10% remaining. From that point it takes about 7.5-8 gallons to fill up.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I’m scared to rely on the fuel gauge to drop to 10% all of a sudden if it never moved from 100% after 30+ miles or so and really getting in the throttle
This is sitting in my garage

yeah. Seeing your elevation at 2k is telling me the update threw off my system. Have you ever rebooted your ride command before?
I as well noticed the fuel gauge takes a long time to come off 100%. Glad its not just me.
good to know I’m not alone on this.

im not familiar with how to restart my ride command. I’ve read a few posts about people unplugging the battery. But I have to imagine there is an option within the system itself. Or maybe a way to uninstall the update and try updating again? Thoughts or suggestions?
Yes... I have done a hard reset?? Reboot?? Whatever you want to call it... the last update before this one failed to load and screwed up a bunch of stuff.

Good to know there is a reboot/ reset option.
1) Is there a setting within the ride command to do the reset?
2) Also, did you have to download the update from polaris again or did you just use the original download you had on a thumb drive?

I didnt hard reset but re downloaded the update and plugged it into my ride command. That fixed the issue with the elevation. Fuel gauge seems to be better now than before with the % on the screen being more accurate. The bars on the digital display are still off. But ill take what I can get lol

To perform a hard reboot of your display, press and hold the power button (center Polaris logo) for 5 seconds. If the display gets into a locked-up state, a reboot may correct the issue.

I downloaded all new files. Update and full map including base just to make sure one of the downloads didn't get corrupted.

Don’t know, but I’m updating my 2019 tomorrow. Never running out of fuel is bad ass!

I haven't had mine out since the update. I'm also in an xp4 1000 but shouldn't be any different.
I also haven't looked to see if there's been another update that fixes any bugs.

I just remembered, I'm currently not full on fuel
I'm 1 bar above half and ride command says 70%

Elevation seems about right.

I top mine off as high in the filler neck as possible - I've been known to position the car so the filler is on the high side if not on level ground. Stays on 100% for a long time - must be burning what's in the filler neck. If I fill to where the nozzle clicks on level ground, the gauge is incredibly accurate - like to within .5 quart. After that it will take some more which makes me think it is fuel in the filler neck.

My 2¢

AND on the waypoint and routes screen you have to check the box on top to view them - if the box at the top is not checked, they won't show in the list. This is so you can view a listing of either waypoints, routes, or both. Or neither?

Sounds like a glitch to me.

Have you tried a hard re-boot?
