S Conversion Width

So, I've spent about two days on here searching and cannot find an answer to satisfy my curiosity. For those who have done an S Conversion from Super ATV (or another company) what is the width of the machine afterward with factory stock wheels? All the sites say it will turn the 900 into a 60" machine, but no one states if that is the A arm addition or A arms with factory wheels.

I bought a 50" because I ride a lot of goat trails, and plan to continue doing so, but a friend and I were discussing adding a little width for some stability. There are very rocky trails where I ride, and things can get hairy sometimes. I high-centered once. I like the idea of arched A arms for clearance, adding a little height, and I'm not opposed to adding width, just need to know the exact size I'd end up with. I have a 60 1/4" trailer and do not want to buy another. I've also explored adding offset wheels, but that doesn't do much for clearance. I really wish there was a 55" kit. That would be ideal.

Oh, I have a 21 Trail Ultimate if that matters.

So I don’t have the kit but I do have some info that might help you with trailer issues. I have a 50” as well and a 60” trailer. I added 1 inch spacer and a set of wheel and tires from a General (11” rear-9” front) and I’m very close to my trailers sidewalls. I would feel that the S conversion is going to put you past your trailers dimensions.

We have a 2019 Polaris RZR 900 EPS 50" Trail Wide.. Because of the area we ride (Ganaraska Forest in Ontario, Canada) we won't go any wider than 50".. If we did go wider than 50" we wouldn't be able to drive each other crazy 🤪 in much of the forest.. With a 50" Trail Wide we can drive each other crazy on all the atv trails and anything wider (60" S Wide is to wide for atv trails)

In post below DownriverRZR used rims so his rzr was 55" Wide just like the 2015-17 RZR 55" Wide XC.. Hope the below info helps.. Cheers 🙂

Regarding the first part of your post.. This is my understanding of things after reading this & that after buying our RZR 50" Trail Wide in late Sept 2019..

The RZR 50" Trail Wide is 50".. RZR S is 60" Wide (it doesn't matter if factory oem or conversion).. These are with OEM Factory Offset Rims which are 6+1 (if I'm not mistaken)..

If you were to use 5+2 rims the Trail would now be 52" and the S would be 62" (+ or -)..

The RZR XC (if I'm not mistaken) used 4+3 rims so the Trail was 54" - 55" and S would be about 64" Wide..

Due to things like geometry & physics don't think you can get 50" Trail Wide to be too much higher than what Polaris designed..

SuperATV did make High Clearance A Arms for the 50" Trail Wide.. But they are now very hard to find.. I lucked out a few months ago and found a set on eBay (for up to 2020.. don't know if will fit 2021)..

Some other factors that may make your rzr sit lower than ideal is worn springs.. The stock factory oem Polaris springs are know to be very weak (both Sachs Shocks and also the 50" Trail Wide with Fox Shocks from the factory are know to have weak springs.. that's what I read)..

So to gain (or re-gain) at least the factory oem ground clearance minimum you might want or have to get some new springs.. Late last year I bought a set of RT Pro Springs RTP5301105 but haven't had a chance to install them yet (I would rather drive my wife crazy 🤪 than wrench)..

Forgot about bigger tires.. Posted this previously..

I run 27x9-12" Tusk Terrabite on all 4 corners.. The rims are Traxion X-5 with Factory 6+1 Offset..

When I was looking for rims at Rocky Mtn ATV it looked like they only had 5+2 or 4+3.. I wanted 6+1 to maintain the 50" trail width..

NOTE: Traxion Off-Road is a Canadian company that designs tires and parts for the ATV/UTV market..

Thank you all for the responses. Since I like the small size of my RZR for the mine trails around here, that's why I bought it, I'm thinking a little extra width by changing tires is where I need to look. There are no trail limits in Arizona where I have to stay at 50", so 55" would be ideal for me I think.

Now I need to figure out if I want 12" or 14" rims. I already did a clutch kit so changing size would be no problem. Any thoughts on wheel size? I was thinking 27 to 29 max. Now if @SuperATV would make a lift kit for the 2021 Trail 900 I'd be in heaven!

When choosing wheel size, keep in mind that part of your suspension comes from the sidewall of your tires, so all else being equal you will get a rougher ride on 14" wheels than you will on 12" wheels.

The main upside to 14" wheels is there is less chance for a rock to get caught between the wheel and brake caliper, which can be really bad, but also is very rare.

One thing I noticed when I added my 2" spacers (stock 12" wheels) is there is almost no way for that to happen now because the calipers are not deep inside the wheel anymore.

Did you gain some clearance with those?
When I went from the factory "26 inch" tires to 27x9-12 terrabytes I gained 1.5" of ground clearance. How did a 1" tire size increase give me 1.5" of ground clearance you ask? Because the factory "26 inch" tires are actually only 23.5" tall when mounted on the vehicle, while the 27" terrabytes are 26.5" tall mounted on the vehicle....
