I have a 2009 RZR S with 2600+ miles and 325+ hours. I purchased it used a few years back. Since I have not had any real issues, I have never looked at the clutch or belt. Today while getting the RZR ready for a trip to WV, I opened up the clutch cover and found...
The belt looks to be just under a 1/4" of an inch from hitting the front surface, with the engine off. I am unsure to the age of this belt or when it was last replaced. Should the belt be touching on both sides equally? or do I need to look at it while running? Everything looks good, I did not see any chunking or shinny surfaces. I order a belt for a spare, should I install it? and keep this one for a spare? I do notice my RZR is more jumpy than most, meaning when you hit the gas it gets to a certain RPM and then lurches forward or backward, instead of a steady slow acceleration (and I am over exaggerating the situation, it really is not that bad, except in reverse).
