This topic won't appeal to everyones tastes, but here is an idea my friends and I came up with. We have tried many things, but lets face it beer bottles break in the cooler so heres the new project for the home built lock and ride beer cooler.
1. take your favorite beer cooler, and place a couple of zip lock bags filled with air in the bottom to create a void. Ensure that the drain plug is covered. 2. take 1 dozen beer bottles, and cover them in grease, or pam cooking oil, or wrap them in wax paper (prob the best solution). 3. use a can of expanding sprayfoam insulation, and fill the cooler 1/4 full, remember this stuff expands quit a bit. 4. place the 1 dozen beer bottles into the spray foam and allow the foam to cure. 5. when the foam has dried, and hardened remove the beer bottles. the grease should allow you to pull them out without wrecking the foam. 6. puncture the bags of air in the bottom of the cooler, and remove them throigh one of the bottle holes. the pourpose of this step was to create a void for ice.
And there you have it ride as hard as you want without worrying about breaking the precious cargo.
If I ever get around to it I will post pics of the finnished product, however chances are one of you guys will get the job done before I do.:beer3:
