I fully charged & installed my optima battery in my RZR last night it read 13.2 volts. After charging I waited a few hours before installation I checked voltage after I hooked it up before starting & it read 12.8 volts. With the RZR running it charges 14.7 volts.
When i got up this morning I checked my voltage & it read 12.6 volts. Is this good or bad? Also when I hooked up my cables last night I noticed a motor like sound coming from under the dash. It ran for a few seconds then turned off. Kind of like your car does when you first install a battery. Is that normal? I need a little help on this I just bought the battery & I am not sure if I should return it or not?
I am leaving for the dunes next wednesday & I dont want to have any problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It is normal for the battery volts. As for the noise mine does that to, I think its a solenoid buzzing?

All the engines I used to work on ran 12-12.8 setting, 13.7-14.7 running, and a crap battery was around 6V. When they were crap we'd charge them and you could hook the volt meter up and within 20min it was back to 6V, you could watch the V drop slowly on the meter.

I was always told 15V or more is to much.
