The chain is turning all the time, even in neutral (if the secondary is turning). it's just not transmitting torque until you are actually in reverse.

Are you asking about the belt from the motor to the transmission?? If your moving, its moving.

Of course the Belt turns - only way the engine transmits power to the wheels in any direction is through that belt.

There is a clucth on the end of your crank and one on your gear box, the belt runs in the clutches that in turn turns the gear box/transmission input shaft. The input shaft turns gears inside the gearbox, the gears are joined with a chain. I am assuming the new transmissions are still chain driven inside, someine chime in if I'm wrong, I just got back into an rzr, my last one was a 09 s turbo.
