Hey guys - has anyone done the Razorback Belt Sensor in a PXP 4? If so please let me know where/ how you mounted up the infared sensor. Was it on the clutch cover or the housing itself? Thanks for any info on this!

Found a good spot for the gauge. ^^ (relocating the 12V outlet to the pre-drilled spot above)

I just spoke to Razorback via email and they said that they do not have a recommended place to mount the sensor for the PXP. He is going to reach out to some of his dealers and see what they have come up with for this. Im probably going to have to bail on this it seems unless someone out there has done it and can share some pics. Dang!

I can’t confirm this, but when the PXP was first released there was a video that showed details of the clutch cover, and mentioned that there were impressions molded into the clutch cover that were the locations that Polaris had used for belt temp sensors during testing, I’ll see if I can track down that video, might have been Hubert’s vid...

Sorry to Hijack the thread. I noticed it looks like those are carling switches in the switch spots. Some say the switches do not fit well. What is your experience with that? Did you do anything around them to make them fit snug? I think i heard the switch spots are sliding bigger not too sure. I would like to pull my switches out of mine and put them in a pro xp

I just installed the Razor back today. The video that shows the sensor installed in the metal part of the clutch cover was how I did it. Works perfect. Did take the secondary clutch off to make drilling much easier. If you do it this way you will see a ridge on the inside of the metal cover. I drilled the hole on the engine side of the ridge.

On the video Phantom Ghost Project stop it at 2:03-2:05 and you will see the ridge. I used a metal drill bit. Did a pilot hole first then the right size recommended by Razor (sorry forgot the size). It is easy with the secondary clutch off. and drill from inside the cover.

I would think mounting the sensor 90 degrees to the belt and measuring the side temperature of the belt would not be accurate. The belt moves in/out of the clutches causing it to change positions vertically. This would cause the sensor to only read accurately when the sensor and belt are directed aligned. Mounting it in line with the belt rotation should be more accurate.
