Purchasing an Extended Warranty

I've got a question... can I buy an extended warranty for my RZR from a different dealer than who I bought the unit from? My self and two other guys all purchased new RZR's, but the price from the dealer on the extended warranty was a lot. All three of us want to purchase so we're hoping to get some kind of group buy

I've narrowed it down to Cornerstone Extended Warranty, 5 year. Any recommendations on a good dealer to work with?

Thanks.

sorry but I'll never get an extended warranty again. After years of reading about every excuse under the sun a dealer will give to not cover it under warranty it is nothing but a pure profit booster IMO. Sorry FixMyToys, I just don't see how you could do this without taking the dealers word for what happened. An example of something like this was that a dealer wouldn't cover a blown engine that had been caused by a faulty air box. The reason they gave? There was mud on the front bumper. Sorry there are too many ways to get out of a repair, blaming it on the owner. My .02

BarRZR... thanks for the info, I'll get in touch. I've had the extended Polaris extended coverage but I know my dealer likes cornerstone much better.

As for the debate on getting or not getting an extended warranty... I think that comes down to the dealer in your area. I have a close relationship with many at service dept at the dealer I go to, I've seen first hand many things be covered that where boarder line but the dealer pushed and got them covered. Comes down to how good their relationship with the manufacture is.

Bought an RPM One extended warranty for my RZR in 2008.

Had several issues, never got a dime...and the paper is too ruff for toilet paper.

Put the cost of the warranty in a savings account, add $50/month to that...and you can fix anything that crops up...that an extended warranty would pay for!

They just ain't worth it!!

Everything depends on how good of a dealer you have, regardless if you are talking about Polaris, HD GMC or Dodge if you have a factory warranty and a good dealer you should be in great shape. I always buy the extended warranty if I plan on keeping the vehicle longer than the regular warranty covers. Never had any problems!!!!!
I am getting the 5 year total on my 2014 RZR 4 800 when it gets here on or about Oct. 16th.

I have the Cornerstone warranty and having issues with them fixing my motor. My dealer is working to try and solve this. I talked to one of cornerstones adjusters and he said any and I mean any speck of dust from the throttle body in will void any warranty on the motor. When he looked at the photo's that the adjuster took they guy I was talking with told me there is very very little but still grounds for no coverage. This is a filter issue more than anything so if you do buy the extended warranty make sure you do something extreme to protect dust from getting in. Whether they cover mine or not I am going to a Donaldson type system once I get it back.
