Pro R Reliability?

Hey folks, I'm considering a purchase and trying to decide on a RZR model. Besides performance, capabilities and features, one factor that is important is reliability.

Knowing this is a new model, any sense of reliability issues starting to float to the surface with the Pro R?

Thanks in advance.

New part number.

Larger bolts holding the ring gear to the carrier.

Larger ring and pinion gear set.

Improved casting process and thickness in the case for for improved rigidity and strength.

Some of the above information can be easily found by simply looking at the parts diagram. The last sentence regarding the main case was a statement from Polaris when I grenaded my 2nd front diff. Polaris knows they had issues with the 22 front diffs. If you know who to talk to they were seeking a solution most of 2022.

If you don’t believe me simply talk to places like Weddle and they will tell you about all the shortcomings of the 2022 front diff. So please don’t just take my word for it.

Also the 2023 front diff is completely backwards compatible so you can put it in your 2022. I have been runner one in my machine for a few months now and it’s definitely stronger. I’ve had zero issues with it and it’s much quieter then the 2022 design.

SO i just went through and looked at the part numbers for the front diff on my 2022 sport Pro R and compared them to the 2023 Premium Pro R and the only updated parts are the actual entire diff part number, the side case bolts and the solenoid. All other part numbers are the same including bearings and gear sets/pinion numbers ....no reference to this part replaces this part and no new numbers for them.

So it looks like the big upgrade is slightly longer or stronger cover bolts to me. Probably why all the parts are still interchangable.....

Larger ring/pinion sets will most likely not be interchangable...

I believe that solenoid is exterior

They did not have 2024 Pro R parts available for view on their website yet.

Another common issue with the 2022 front diff was the bolts that hold the ring gear to the carrier come loose and prevent the locking mechanism from functioning. That’s why they went to the larger ring gear bolts.

The larger gears, and improved case rigidity was to hopefully alleviate the broken gears. No one could give me a straight answer whether it was an actual gear issue, or case deflection causing the broken gear teeth. So basically Polaris threw everything they could at it to try and solve it without redesigning the whole assembly so it would fit existing chassis design.
