It’s hard to tell but the buttons in the spider look deformed in your picture. If the clutch is sticking then it’s time to take it apart.

 

Which bolt is "sticking out" I'm not seeing it.

 

He's referencing to the fact the primary is stuck engaged so the primary retaining bolt and inner sheave shaft is exposed. Something is siezed/fubar not allowing it to disengage..

 

Simple fix.

 

My thoughts, small pry bar, try to pop the stuck weight free. Then you can get the belt off and pull primary. BTW engaged the way it is, is why you see the exposed area. Could pull the way it is if you want. Just a pain without belt off.

 

Don’t forget get a marker and mark the outside housing and the clutch frame so you put back together the same way you took it apart.

 

On the stationary sheave I always use an "X" metal stamp that lines up with the factory "X"'s on the moveable sheave, Spider, & Cover.

 

Thanks, all. I was referencing the primary retaining bolt. I see that it’s supposed to get more exposed as the clutch compresses. Popped the clutch free. Started, revved it up to compress clutch, and it stuck again. Going to pull and rebuild/replace.

 

Do you have the required tools to do a rebuild?

It could be something as simple as the bushing in the clutch cover face- Easy to replace with no special tools required

 

I'm curious why 1 of his Spider arms has rub/burr marks on it??? Looks like it was assembled with a Flyweight on top of the Spider instead of under the roller.
BTW, the moveable sheave bushing is more likely to cause binding than the cover bushing.

 

It's pretty easy to tell bushings, if the OP removes the belt and the bolts off the clutch cover & spring. Cycle the spider, movable sheave assembly checking for binding Additionally- bushing wobble can be verified on the cover, with the spring out and bolts removed, and all done without popping the clutch off .
I do prefer however, popping the clutch off- removing the spider and checking clearances on the movable sheave.
