XJeff8:
It was a pleasure to meet you folks. We are glad you decided to get your nut checked, as we discussed yours was the most loose one we have had our hands on. The fuse was lit and almost burned down to the point of explosion.
We enjoyed dinner and the visit over a couple of cold ones, and that you had a safe trip home. Hope to see you on the trail some time and help you stir some dust.

Hi Pullerguy! I bought a 2014 Polaris RZR 800s 2 seater last year with 600 miles on it. Doing research on the machine I quickly found videos and information about your pinion nut fix. You've done a great service to the Polaris community! I am going to fix my pinion nut this winter and need some more information before I get it started. Are there any kits I could purchase with new seals and a spindle tool? If I can't get ahold of a tool to hold the spindle do you have any recommendations on how else I could hold it while tightening? I do not own a mill so I would be unable to machine a socket to a smaller diameter, are there any sockets you know of that will fit inside the differential housing? I suppose I could simply grind the socket down. I am located in Boulder County Colorado

Thanks, Roscoe

Just rent his tools and be done with it. He includes the parts with the rental just pay for the rental and parts and shipping. All you have to do is buy the right locktite. I ordered the wrong locktite and postponed the project. That was the only delay. His video shows it all. Very simple. Good luck.

I second this suggestion. Plus he loans you a wrench that is a must have to get this one bolt. Only other thing you have to buy besides the LockTite is the oil for the rear end.

Hello pullerguy I would like to rent your tool to fix my 800 that the rear just exploded on I have a replacement rear differential on the way let me know if it is still available I’m in Denver Colorado thanks in advance

PULLERGUY,

I'm so new on this forum that I can't send you a PM however I need the info on the parts and tools for this fix for my 2012 rzr 800s. Please help. Maybe you can pm me?

Thank you.

I'm in the same boat, too new to pm. Located in Arvada Colorado. I'm researching possibly purchasing a low mile 2013 800 trail. That has brought me here. Would like pm from pullerguy with kit purchase/tool rental. Or, advice from Denver area riders who have had the nut replaced. Thanks!

They work. Probably will avoid this 800 because of the issue.Looking at a 2016 900s as an alternative. Those just need heat shields to keep from catching on fire...

Go to this thread and ask Les for a response.

Very interested in learning more about this. Just picked up a used 2009 and I can only assume it hasn't been done. I'm in Ontario Canada and looking for the parts and tools if anyone can offer suggestions where to find them !
