Yes should be able to remove the drive shaft and work the old seal out and new one on being careful.

That no fun. I understand where your coming from though with warranty but I guess I'm one that would rather do my own repairs and learn the machine along the way instead of having it sit at the dealer for couple weeks just for a seal.

 

As soon as you do it yourself your warranty will be void. I do my own repairs also but I did wait until my Polaris warranty was up. If something major were to happen like motor blow then that ticket is on you.

Cleaned seal off this morning and jacked up on and ran it in shop. Drip, drip, drip out of seal. Definitely seal leak

 

Easy fix. Carefully pop it out and install a new one.

 

Having replaced one, I would take it in.

 

My 2016 was leaking right away also with less than 25 miles on it. I procrastinated taking it in and it stopped leaking after a couple of hundred miles.

 

Did it finally run out of oil? :grin

 

Yea if its brand new take it back and let them fix it. It can be a bear to get the seal out and new one in with out damaging the new seal.

When replacing this seal, I noticed that the front "prop shaft" yokes are welded 20 or 30 degrees out of time or out of phase. Anyone else noticed this on their machines? This is a problem that's going to create more problems

 

My '17 XP1000 is leaking here now as well, any help/tips on getting old one out and new one in...
