First off, holy crap these things are cool. I am a dirt bike rider, born and raised in Moab. I literally lived there till age 21. I now have kids and we planned a trip back to Moab, so I thought, what the heck, family trip so lets rent a RZR to drive the kids around nice and slow and boring. Well, we did Hole-In-The Rock. After doing 60 mph through whoops, climbing everything in sight and hauling ass for 3 days while my kids keep telling me I am the best dad ever, I am buying one of these things.

I drove an EPS 2012 RZR 4 900. I want a 2012 for the dry sump. Here are the questions.

1 I have heard the shocks are the same on the base and EPS model but the website says there is a difference. Are they the same or not.
2 I can get a really good deal on a Non- EPS model. How expensive is an aftermarket power steering kits? Are they as reliable?
3 The website says that the non EPS has 27" tires and the EPS has 26" tires but both have the same ground clearance. Is it accurate that the more expensive machine has smaller tires and the same amount of clearance?

All XP4's have Walker Evans 2" in the front 2.5" in the rear. From what I've seen most aftermarket PS systems are close to $1000 and then you have to install it. It's $1500 more for the LE and it's all under warranty. The 27" ITP's run small and the 26" Bighorns are a way better tire and run big so they are both closer to 26.5" tall.

Both have the same shocks. buy the LE. The ITP tires suck on the base model. Also trust me you will eventually buy powersteering. I have the superatv power steering and it works great for only $600.
However if I did it again I would have just bought the LE. The 2012' s should be cheap right now.
Have fun and welcome to the adiction. The rzr does very well on the rocks in Moab as well.
