Sounds like maybe the battery is dead, when you push the brake in, there is not enough juice for the fuel pump, but if you dont press the brake in, it frees up juice for the fuel pump. have you tried jumping the battery and trying to start the rzr? Not for sure what the E code is.

 

Sounds right Rob. Try jump starting it.

 

Tried jump starting and nothin... Not even a click.. Checked terminals all are tight..

 

Are your brake lights coming on when you step on the pedal?

 

Have you tried starting in P and N.

Next step, remove the drivers seat. Take a pair of bare metal handled pliers and jump across the solenoid that is just to the rear and below the drivers seat. Be careful, as it will start in any gear without pressing the brake pedal.
If the battery is good, and it doesn't turn over at that point, then the starter motor has failed, likely from a bad front bearing.

 

If it does jump this way, what’s the problem you think?

Check the battery voltage too... Most auto part stores will check it for free if you don't have a tester...

Check your fuses / relay's and all of the ground and positive connections, a loose connection or bad ground can cause this problem too...

 

I know the brake lights are coming on, but have you tried to jump the brake solenoid ? I think that's what it's called. Mine is under the driver's seat, and if the brake pedal isn't depressed, it won't power to the starter. Mine has gotten wet/ muddy/ cruddy enough before and not let the engine turn over.

If the battery checks out ok, it's something else to consider.

 

There is a lot of mud and crud under the underside of the ride... Gonna clean it better and see what happens...

 

Just tried jumping it off solenoid.. Motor cranked fine but wouldn't start...????

 

did you have the key in the on position and it in park

 

Key was on but rzr was in neutral

 

Tried it in park same result turns over not firing it seems... Heck idk..

 

Put it in park and had same result when jumping off solenoid... Going to replace solenoid and possibly remove the brake switch.. Is that wise to do? If so can someone tell me how to bypass it?? Thx..

 

Replaced solenoid on rzr still same result... Ran test light everywhere I could think to... All checked good.. Ended up finding short in the ignition key switch.. Replaced it runs and starts perfect.. Maybe this will help

Glad you found it. I wouldn't have thought about the ignition switch although I had a Polaris 50 that would spin, but not start and the issue was in the handlebar switch. It's a weird ignition circuit to me. Anyway, GOOD JOB !!!

 

I was so glad to finally figure it out.. Me and a buddy of mine racked our brains for a few hours checkin grounds, fuses and anything we could check... I was about to give up.. I just bought it last Friday and had only rode it once.. Dropped about 2grand in aftermarket parts wheels ,tires ,doors ,bumper and winch. Had all this stuff to put on a rzr that wouldn't start.. I was getting frustrated to say the least haha..

 

Glad you found the problem, I wouldn't have thought about the ignition switch either, doing it yourself gives you good experence and saves a ton of money if you dont have to take it to a dealer. Congrats....

 

I located the small fuse box under back seat drivers side. I unplugged each fuse and plugged back in. It then turned over and started right up.

 

My rzr 800 s 2012 won’t start at all what could be the problem? I have no power to anything. It ticked for a second and then wouldn’t even do that.

 

Try shorting out the brake switch. If that doesn't work try the solenoid. The brake switch is on the left part of the front under and slightly back from the driver's seat.
