Hi guys just bought my first 2021 xp turbo with the new P90X style clutch and everything is stock. While performing the recommended break in period, with around 65 miles on Rzr I did experience a belt slip when I hit 70mph when easing on up to that speed. Now with about 180 miles on it I have done a few WOT runs starting at about a 5 to 10 mph roll. I felt it pull very hard up to top speed and the belt no longer slipped and I was happy with the feel and results. I’ve taken a few videos showing the rpm’s and speed through out the runs from start to top speed. At WOT around 8mph the rpm’s hit 8050 at 20mph and they stay at 8000rpms up till about 75mph and max out at 8150rpms at top speed of 80. If I continue to hold the throttle the rpm’s will start to fluctuate between 7900 & 7700rpm as does the speed from 80 to 77mph and then builds back up to 80mph. I’m assuming that’s the high speed limiter cutting in and out. I had my video analyzed by two well known clutch kit companies on this site. One said my rpm’s appear to be low during the run and should raise up and stay higher while at top speed without fluctuating. The other said he thinks my 2 seater rzr top speed should’ve been higher and that my Rzr could’ve received a 4 seater tune compat from the factory that’s designed to limit top speed to 80 on a 4 seater. So now I’m sort of bummed. I can only compare this Rzr to my 2015 Rzr 1000 and it feels so much stronger than that did but now I’m told it needs a clutch kit from both companies to run better via the numbers. I know these are totally new clutches for 2021 xp turbos and could it be they run at different rpm’s compared to the older model rzrs? Could a few of you please tell me how your stock 2021 xp turbos are running compared to my numbers and if anybody bought a clutch kit or one with a tuner, did that help in performance. I surely would appreciate your input. Thanks

I have same machine. Had belt slip at higher speeds on stock clutch. Bought the AA s3 clutch kit with high performance helix and AA stage 2 tune. Eliminated belt slip, tune makes big difference on acceleration and top speed. IMO for my riding style I don’t like the high performance helix, went back to the stock helix. Thinking about trying their high load helix. I mostly ride steep trails and rocks, high performance helix probably works better in more wide open areas. Mid range power with the performance helix is pretty amazing but simply not my style of riding.
From what I understand its mostly week stock springs in the factory springs that cause the belt slip. So if your looking for a cheaper option, you could probably just get upgraded springs for your clutches.

Here’s what I find confusing. When I first felt the slip with 65 miles on it, I though it was always going to be slipping at high speeds all the time so I ordered the Hunterworks clutch kit an their belt. With that It pulled hard and had no belt slip. After putting on 170 miles I started to do WOT runs with clutch kit and recorded those runs. Hunterworks asked me to see what the stock setup numbers looked like and record. Surprisingly doing my first WOT to top speed with the stock clutch and belt, the belt never slipped like it did before. Apparently more run time on belt is what it must have needed. Also the rpm’s , mph and the times to get from a roll on WOT start to 60mph and to top end (80) were pretty much identical to the recommended clutch kit setting runs. I also tried different clutch kit settings and the numbers and feel really didn’t change much from the stock runs. All runs done on straight, flat pavement.
Im running 30” terrabite tires, SB air filter only and front/back windshields.
So I’m really interested in if any of you ,2021 xp turbos, are seeing approximately the same numbers as I am and if what I’m seeing may be normal performance numbers. Thanks👊

New to this forum and still learning. Can anyone please help me by explaining how to post a video. I was hoping to get more replies to my post by just explaining what my concerns are but maybe my video will help in getting members to reply. Again all I’m wanting to know is if my numbers are what other 2021 xp 2 seater turbos with the P90x clutch are seeing with stock setup. And if you did add a clutch kit or tune did it help a lot. Sorry but this being my first turbo I’d just like to know if it’s performing as it should.

No idea. I was only stock for about 50 miles. Plus I'm a 4 seater and running some heavy ass tires, so my numbers won't help you anyway. If you have no belt slip on the stock clutch and your rpms aren't too low I'd probably leave it alone. If you plan on upgrading to bigger/heavier tires and running a tune, I'd definitely do that stuff first and then mess with the clutching if necessary.

Turbo Ryan, thanks for the You tube share tip. So the above video is what mine looks like in stock mode and pretty much the same results when using the Hunterworks clutch kit suggested settings. I’ll be using a gps to verify actual top speed soon since I’m running 30” tires instead of shorter stock tires. Is anyone else seeing this with their 2021 Rzr xp turbo? Thanks for your input guys.

An AA Level 2 and 3 Tune will really wake it up.

You have a Hunterworks/Dalton clutch kit or something else?

After the tune I would reset the clutch back to stock (stock primary weights, stock primary spring, stock secondary helix) and run an EPI PEBS32 secondary spring. If your existing clutch kit has adjustable weights, those could be reinstalled to fine tune the rpm.

You'll be looking for 8200-8400 at 55mph and should easily see 85+ mph on the top end. If you're high altitude I would be ok with 8000-8100 with 32" tires. But with 30s, 8200+ would be my target.
