Make my RZR quiet

We rock crawl and trail ride with the whole family in our RZR. Here is a picture of my exhaust to start this thread. It significantly reduces the exhaust noise level. It is made from two 900 XP mufflers. Now it's quiet enough that I can hear engine and clutch noise.

I'm looking at adding some foam behind the rear seats to absorb noise.

What have you all done to reduce the noise?

I have a RZR 800 4 and it is so loud that the back seat people can't hear anything but the motor.
we went to the rally on the rocks in Moab last year and ours was probably one of the loudest rigs out there except the modified ones. I hate the loudness of this machine it's almost embarrassing.
I need a cheap fix to make it quieter any ideas?

Headsets are nice but I'm hoping to make quiet enough that we don't need them all the time. And the kids won't wear them all day at this age.

We have gotten a lot of good comments when out riding about how much nicer it is with the double mufflers. I'm just not happy yet and I am willing to put in a lot of effort to make it better.

Something that i've done on a couple vehicles in my life is buy a Y-adapter and run them back into 1. I've done behind 2 chamber flowmasters twice and it pretty much sounds like a single exhaust again. Out of two 900 mufflers, you'll probably have to make a Y pipe instead of buying one. say something like 1.25 inlets into a 2" outlet. It may not be as big of a difference on a 2 cyl motor like it is on a v-8 because the exhaust pulses never hit at the same time, but who knows.

On the 800's there is not enough room to put two mufflers in.

Slp makes a quiet muffler for the 800 and 900. They don't see too interested in the 1000.

I'd like to quiet mine down also. Is the inlet flange on the 900 muffler the same size as the 1000? Did you happen to take DB readings?

My dad's business is truck accessories, has been since 1969.
I know a good number of his customers use the spray-in bedliner to coat the inside of the truck bed and the undercarriage for sound deadening purposes. The Rzr is probablly a natural target for the treatment - several companies do the job, just have them tape off what you don't want sprayed and have them spray the underside, the "bed" and under the backseat up at least to the shoulder level. Of course you'd want to remove the battery, tape off the wiring, anything else that may be in the way (driveshaft, etc), but I'd think that would make a big difference in the sound level in the passenger area.

I went with the replace option SLP super silent muffler. I must say it is a noticeable different,s and i received a great price by buying a (scratch and dent second).

fantastic post, I've been trying to figure out how to quiet down my RZR too. My neighbor friend lives 1/2 mile from my house and he can hear me pulling out of my garage. Making noise doesn't appeal to me, the more discreet the better. I have a stereo that seems plenty loud when stationary and as soon as i get moving i can't get it loud enough to hear. I suppose if the exhaust was quiet enough i would compain about my driveline noise.

I'm going to research the SLP Super Silent Muffler.
