I just picked up a 2011 RZR 800 for my first foray into the world of UTVs. I am are required to display a license plate where I live. What is the best way to mount one? Am I overthinking it and should I just drill into the plastic on the back and use some zap straps or screws?

I just used hex head self tappers and put it right into the plastic on the back. Easy peasy.

Simple license plate mount?
I have searched but can't find a simple and inexpensive way to mount my plate. It's the same size as a standard size motorcycle plate. Any suggestions? I don't need it lighted.

I'm against those fancy plate holders due to the cost. To each their own though.

If you go through the plastic, just make sure nothing like wires, etc are behind it.
And if you remove the plate at a later time. Just paint the screw heads black and re-insert them. Won't leave ugly holes.

A couple of these around the cross brace tube.
They will pivot up when you need to check rear diff fluid level.

How about temporarily mounting it here with zip ties - that's what I'm doing for now - when I need to access rear diff, I just cut the ties
