Just installed Roktek 3" lift, several questions

This post is going to be long so I apologize in advance. I just finished my install on the Roktek 3" lift today which went extremely smooth. The only problem I have is I don't feel like I got the amount of lift advertised at all.

Pre lift I was 9.5" in front and 10.25" in the rear of GC. After install I am currently at 11.5" in front and maybe 11" in the rear of GC. This is after taking the RZR out for a ride. When I first lowered it on the ground after install I had 14" of GC in the front and I was ecstatic but that all went away after a ride around the neighborhood settled out the suspension.

There are several things I would like to discuss. Number 1 my RZR is a 2008 model with the original stock springs so I'm 100% positive they are sagging like my grandma's tits. Before I put the lift on I had my preload adjusted at the 3rd notch. I had also recently installed new rims so I'm sure my measurements were a little off because I hadn't taken the RZR out to let the suspension settle after being jacked up.

When I installed the lift I decided to lower the preload down to stock because that is what Roktek recommends. I'm sure that had an effect on why my lift results weren't what I expected.

Now here are my questions. Are my lift results normal for a 2008 RZR with stock suspension and no preload? If they are then is it acceptable for me to adjust my preload back up to say the 3rd notch? Finally, if I install HL springs in conjunction with the Roktek lift should I take out the 2" spring spacers in the front that came with the kit or should I reinstall those on new springs?

Josh, 1st very few report getting the 3" advertised but don’t worry about it. It will give max lift without binding the stock CVs.
I’m surprised you still had 10.25” with the stock 08 springs. Perhaps it wasn’t settled!
I installed the HL springs before the 3” Roktek and saw worthwhile gains from both. Crank the preload as needed for now. But you won’t regret adding new springs to the equation. I don’t think you’ll want the spring spacers in there with the new springs. I’ve only had one friend/passenger that I usually run any preload added.

the only way to get 3 inchs out of the kit front and rear is with spring spacers in front and all 4 shocks put on highest preload.

i speak from experiance.

preloads adjust ride height to counter for added weight. when you turned them back down you took that ride height away because your rzr didnt get any lighter. any lift kit you put on a rzr that doesnt bind the cvs at full droop is essentially the same as turning up your preloads. all you've done is taken 2 steps forward and one step back. turn those preloads back where they were and you'll get the lift. if it rides too stiff its something you're just going to have to deal with. changing springs wont help that. if you go to a softer spring such as a progressive spring is during the first inch or so of travel, you'll not have as much lift. its give and take unless you want to go wider.
