It's Pretty Funny How....

I'll start, I found this on the yxz forum. I like to keep up with other machines and what's going on in the industry in general. I'll be the first to say that with 850 hard run wide open dune and rock climbing miles, I've had one failure, my fault, busted u joint, big tire, big rocks, heavy foot. I've got the clutch shims and I run off and leave yxz's in my XPT, so to continue their little "ITS PRETTY FUNNY HOW", I'd like to say: ITS PRETTY FUNNY HOW...

No one on any other forum is talking about the yxz.

Annnd.... That the yxz can't seem to win any big race.

What's funny is how the Yamaha guys don't get that there hardly any YXZ's out there, so probably half are broken. I see lot's of threads about broken machines, clutches, engines etc. They don't realize that there are more RZR's out there than all others combined. :)

Yamaha is winning on the race tracks and If they have a 4 seat model next month you can expect it won't be long before they start winning in the desert. I have over 2,700 miles on my YXZ. 1st gear is too high for under 10 mph tough stuff and it need 15 mph on steep hills. Its a lot easier to deal with the YXZ problems then the Polaris problems and I put on over 19,000 on the 3 Polaris models I had. I sold my RZR XP 900 and replaced it with the YXZ. My RZR had 11,000 miles on it.

I don't know where you say they are winning, Yamaha came in with a car that won't compete with what's already on the market, it has won a couple of races, mostly against amateur drivers in an NA class, all the real competition has moved on to turbo cars.

I'd guess 90% of the UTV market is casual users riding around off-road, camping, etc. frankly the whole "Yamaha is winning on the race track" is meaningless.

What matters is does it fit the needs of the masses, time will tell on that one but I will say outside of some small issues ( granted they should have been warranty items) my RZRs have been good machines. I've had a 800,900 & now a 1000 well over 7k miles without a single belt issue or trail breakdown.

I'm gonna catch a lot of crap for this. I'm not in love with Polaris. I'm not brand bias what so ever. I like to ride, doesn't matter if it's in a Polaris, Yamaha, Honda, KTM, Can-Am.

The rzr fits my needs.

Cam Am - you sit on top of the engine. Not digging that...
Yamaha - I'm not shifting, I'm gonna spill my beer. Plus the shocks stick out of the hood. Looks weird to me.
Honda - Doesn't even have a sport SxS

Threads like these only come along when someone's ego feels threatened. Ok, if everything is else junk, then why even worry about it? Those who own the best shouldn't care what anyone else says, does or owns. I know I like what I have and I don't care if others are impressed with me/it or not. Competition between manufacturers is good, but competition of egos and "mines better than yours" arguments are meaningless. I think the xpt is the best stock utv available right now, but I'm not sure why that matters. I agree with gndude, I could care less who or what is winning races, but rather how the fishing is at my next stop when I'm camping. Next up, the Ford, Dodge or Chevy argument.

You guys are right. The RZR's work great and are easy for anyone to drive. If the 2017 Yamaha sport model or models do not have an auto trans sales will suck. My 570 and 900 both had the fun factor but needed a lot of repair with the miles. We need a 1000cc sport model that works great and costs a lot less. The $20,000 to $28,000 OTD cost is hurting sales and having to put up with a belt drive sucks at that price.
