Intercooler Removal - Gasket Upgrade- WTF?

The service manual would have me moving the throttle body, remove the intake manifold, and unhooking a half dozen sensors (and we know how often those get hurt doing that). Why?

I've got the rear bumper, muffler, heat shield and rear frame bracket out. If sure looks to me like if I unhook the hoses it will come straight out once I remove the 13 "head' bolts. What am I missing?

Is this one of those "it needed another 1/16" of clearance to get out, so remove engine" moments?

Thanks,

It can be swapped out by removing muffler and rear muffler bracket that’s it just did buddies

I see this guy did just what I'm thinking.

Since somebody might search someday, the video I found shows you everything except torque and tightening sequence information (I think). Here it is:

BTW, that's a really small amount of torque. Many torque wrenches won't go that small. Those that do are oft in inch-lbs. Just to help the next guy, 7ft/lbs is 84 inch/lbs.

Cause I'm a pussy and use them when called for. Like the pic shows above...

Understood. I'm snapped a few small head bolts myself just that way.
