You will need a ratchet strap to compress the front springs so you can install the collar. Doesn’t take much but the only way I could get it in.

 

Same experience. Make sure the threads are cleaned. I sprayed some wd-40 on mine to help it out. Pretty simple install. I left the shocks on the machine when I did mine.

 

I put a small amount of anti-seize on the little bolts for the crossover rings. Really, it's a rather easy job.

I highly highly recommend the exact ratchet straps in post #9. Makes the install and adjustments easy. Make sure you clock the springs per the instructions, the spring tips should be on top of each other and not 180° apart.

 

If you go to your Auto Zone parts house you can rent for free, the spring compressor in Seth's posting above ^^^^

 

I use ratchet straps next time I’m ordering this kit cheap one first if it does the job.

I bolt the base of the shock assembly down and then use three straps evenly spaced around the spring.

I bought these straps. Is the 766lb working limit strong enough?

 

I use smaller scrap tie downs basically, work fine for me. Not sure the load on these but probably ~300 ish. Only issue with the bigger handles might be space if you are working on the rig at droop such as changing ride height after install. You will need one on either side of the spring and alternate tightening.

 

As I recall they only need to compress a 1/2” or so takes very little pressure ) WE shocks)
