The wait for Makin Trax progressive springs to arrive, get mounted and then tested is over.
Once the springs arrived I had trouble getting the new springs on so Steve did it for me and got them right back to me. It took me full week to get the RZR loaded up and to the local OHV park for a spin.
After this morinng I can tell you I'm thrilled with these springs. I did not try to jump this outing but I did float my RZR through rutted out, washed out and very rocky terrain. The same terrain that forced me to slow way down with the stocker shock springs because I was slamming bump stops. I could not feel any rear bucking but got a couple of hard bounces up in front, still don't think I bottomed them.
Someone on a quad was trying to keep up through the rough stuff and was amazed at how fast the RZR could go through it. I let him jump in on the passenger side for a spin, the extra weight gave me a little more roll but the shocks handled very well with two.
In the end, I can't debate linear spring load rates divided by the hyper variable of a progressive spring load rate but I can say that Polaris really could take a lesson from these progressive springs for thier future models.
Also, I take back the crap I gave Johnny Cat about all of his freakin Afco posts Steve really is a stand up guy.
