If you have this plug near the drivers side taillight then you would cut the Orange w/black strip wire and the Orange wire and wire your rear signal wire into them ( mine was Orange w/ black strip to my black wire, and my Red to Orange)

 

Do you want to splice into the wires leaving them connected to the harness or just cut them free from the harness to use them for the blinkers?

 

I will have to double check, but I think I only have three wires, not four. thanks for your input.

 

2014 1k only has 3 wires. The 2015 has 4 and can be wired for blinkers through the stock tail lights. I haven't done it, but it should work that way.

 

Ok checked mine and I only have three wires. One thing I need to mention I did not buy the Ryco Kit. I am simply wanting to wire in the tail lights to my existing street legal kit. Hopefully someone out there has done this and has some insight.

Just wanted to update this. I never got an answer from anyone on exactly how to wire them in, so I finally just tried something and it works great. On my street legal kit my signal switch is one that is mounted on the steering column(A SIGNAL STAT 900). In the wiring on it there is a brake light wire. I had to hook that up to my brake switch and then use the two lines that I ran for blinkers to splice into the existing brake lights. I cut the existing wiring on each light and connected the wires from my switch. Now my tail lights do blinkers and brakes. Just wanted to share so if anyone has any questions or would like to see some pictures let me know.

 

I have been fighting this all night. Its almost 3am and I'm leaving for Moab tomorrow after work. I first tried a tailight converter but after fighting it for 2 hours I googled it for info and found out it was made for bulbs only (not LEDs) I am using the same model 900 turn signal switch and didn't know what to do with the "brake switch" wire so I have just left it sit as of now...so your saying just tie that into my positive on your brake switch and it will work? Just so I am clear is the brake switch down by the pedal linkage? As for my two wires I am ran back for my rear blinkers, you say I just splice them into the existing "brake" wire? not the "tail" wire. You will save my bacon if this is correct. Thanks for starting this thread and writting your update.

 

I did this last summer and used a toggle switch instead of the steering column approach.

I posted how I did this back then, but don't have the info any longer.

I think I used three relays and ran two wires back to the taillights and spliced into them.

 

Having similar problem with 2015 and aftermarket rear led rear light bar. Can't seem to get brake lights to work or get fire to what I assume is brake lights(2 orange wires)

 

A picture would be great and where did you tie into your break lights. i have the 920 turn signal.

 

Guys any update on wiring the rear LED taillights for turn signals? I am working to build up my own wiring kit. Just using the switch / Rocker switch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Did you ever get this to work? I really hate the thought of paying 300-400 to make lights that I already have blink...
