I grew up a gearhead just doing this stuff as many here did also but I would guess many here are just "regular" dads trying to keeps the kids happy with these little cars and this is an awesome post that will help lots of people.

So.if I buy the jet kit i can just install it. What other add ons would I need and what kind.of adjustments do.u need to.make?

 

Do you mean adjustments or mods? If mods then the sky is the limit. If adjustments then Jets and check the slack in your throttle cable.

 

I think I have an easy question. I followed the instructions but did not pay attention as to where the hose on the bottom of the carb attaches to. Or was it not attached to anything before I rotated it

 

It's just a drain. It's not connected to anything

I just remembered when i found it on the floor, i forgot to put back that white plastic cap....

What does it do? Seems to be running good without it

 

I was looking on line at some of the air intake kits and one kit comes with the main jet and the ploit and one kit ony comes with a larger main jet. So my question is by doing this setup should i change both or just the main. I dont know my elevation but i live here in the dallas tx area. Thanks. so for jacking thread

 

You just change the ones that you need.it's not an exact science and you may need a different jet that what they provide in those kits.

What size jet should I purchase off the jetsrus site. I would like to.just install and ride it. Without it giving me many issues with being to rich but also giving me more power.

 

Go with 40 <better starting> and 105-110 main. Jets won't do a lot for power without an aftermarket intake and exhaust

 

You think a 45 pilot is too big? Only ask as I have laying around shop from my YFZ450, and its exact same style pilot jet. No shop has one in stock. Still has stock air filter & exhaust. In ky so about 500' elev or so.
They have a 107.5 and 110 mains locally so gonna pick them up today

 

So I should buy a jet kit instead

 

Don't bother. Buy them from jets r us. Much cheaper to go that route

well what's the torpedo looking thing that has a little change that hangs from the black floats because I lost that. The s0b fell off as I was putting it together and cannot find it it flew somewhere of course

Are you taking about the hing pin for the floats?

 

Never mind I know what you are talking about. That's the float valve. That's what stops the flow of fuel into the float bowl once the bowl is full of fuel. Do not even try to run the carb that way.
