Use the vise as a pivot point then hit the edge of housing (as shown in attached picture)

 

You need to remove the retaining ring first. Then open your vice up just wider than the axle shaft. Slide the axle in between the jaws and slam the CV downward and it will pop off.

 

With the beating that thing took it looks like it's time for a whole new axle now anyway.
