Those look good. What's the price range he's doing them for? Does he use brand new housings or does he want the current lights mailed to him?

What does he use to seal them up? Heard about headlights leaking.

Do you have anymore pictures? Maybe of how they look from the back (to show wiring) and with the LEDs off.

 

i believe he wants 100 to do them and you send him your headlights. i will ask him about sealing up the lights and try to get those pics asap.

Jonnycat did his like that they are cool. Good for sitting in the dunes at night so you dont get hit.

 

My reason for wanting to do this.

 

the lens's are just silly coned on easy to take apart and reseal or add something like those little leds in there ! easy as just doing it . a sharp object helps too , mabe some beer or other bevrages and its a done deal

 

Thats it? Nothing special to seal them up? I'm looking for stuff to seal up some speaker enclosures too. Would the same stuff work?

I used a heatgun to take them apart and figured out where the wires needed to come through and drilled as small a hole as I could get the wires through. I ran the wires through the hole and tested them before reassembling with a high grade 3M hitemp clear silicone. its not coming apart and its not gonna leak. Just need to take your time and not rush getting them apart. and use a good amount putting them back together.



Its actually easy and a fun project. Total cost about 30 bucks

 

How long were your LED strips? Are they all the way around the headlight?

 

No they dont go across the top . I think likle 12-14 inches.

I slowly cut the silicone and pry them open. As Bruce mentioned a little heat from a heat gun helps too. I put them back together with a good quilty silicone.

 

Love the green!! Thats what color I want to do. Do you have any pictures of the rear of the headlights? Since you have been doing it for so long, got any helpful hints?

On a side note, what kind of whips do you have?

I'm going to be buying some stuff tomorrow for other parts of my RZR, what is a good quilty silicone, like brand that you used? Sorry for the dumb question, just want these to last and do it right the first time.

Is there any reason everyone has done along the bottom? I think I'd like to have the LEDs across the top of the headlight.


The green in the whips and LEDs match pretty good.

 

Go with a low VOC silicone and you will be fine

I went across the bottom to copy the look of the Audi and BMW. I thought the check mark look went with the shape of the headlight.

Might have to play around with it and see how it looks. I think I read that you put some metal over the LEDs to hide them. What exactly did you use?

Seen lots of talk about getting them on eBay but if you've searched you already know there's a gazillion look-alike strips there. I'm sure some are better than others. But which??

 

Most of the guys who mud ride use the LED's from Whoolies. They get submerged and and just have the crap beat out of them in general. They are more expensive than the ones from eBay but I think it would be worth it.

 

How much are stock OEM lights new? I might buy a set to try this LED setup on.

 

Looks like between $70 and $80 online per light.
