Thought all the new ones came with ride command?

 

Only the Ultimate and Premium come with the ride command. The Sport does not.

 

I have a 2022 XP Pro 4 Sport on order. I'm not sure yet if I'm going with the ride command or not. That dealer installed option is $2500+ option. On my current 2020 S 1000 I'm using my Samsung Table Tap A 10.1 using the Gaia Software. I really like the setup. My tablet has a built-in GPS so having internet is not a requirement to use Gaia on my Tablet.

I'm considering using my tablet as a alternate to the Ride Command.

 

Theres a guy on here that sells new ride command units, you just have to buy the mounting kit and install yourself. Cost is about half of what the dealer charges. I added to mine, but wasn't happy with ride command as a GPS. Just added a tablet with lifetime trail maps and like that a lot better. I still like the rc for the gauges and cameras, plus nice to have a backup GPS in case something happens to the tablet.

 

If you have friends with ride command I would suggest the trail tech voyager pro. Which is compatible with ride command

 

a tablet with gps software would be the way i'd go if i didn't have ride command. Bigger screen, cheap comparatively, and also has other features.

 

I went with a Samsung A-7 10.4 tablet and downloaded ride command and maps to get started. I mounted it on a Ram mount to the passenger grab bar. So far so good. I will probably play with some better mapping apps but it works and cost about $330 for the tablet and mounts.

 

depends on where you ride, what kind of features you want. I ride michigan trails, and seasonal roads. I use a garmin nuvi 50. It does the job. And its cheap. I am not a fan of ride command. Its useless for where I ride.

 

Most in our group run GAIA on an ipad, one guy runs Lifetime Maps on an android, when mine comes in i plan on running Gaia on an ipad with it mounted to the dash were the ride command screen goes.
