So I have a 2010 bobby Gordon razor and my gears are grinding when I try putting it in gear, when I do manage to force it to get into gear it turns off

Easy is a relative term. There’s not much easy about working on the 800 platform compared to the newer models. I believe you can still get the clutches off without removing too much. Definitely go with Polaris or better brand of aftermarket parts, NOT the ebay cheapo stuff. I’ve heard it’s no bueno. If you want to confirm that you have a clutch issue, pull the cover and start the machine. In neutral the secondary should not spin, or you should be able to easily hold it still. Obviously be careful doing this. If the secondary is being driven at idle with force, it’s definitely a clutch issue assuming your belt is correct and good.
