Front diff and driveline vibration. Me vs polaris

Ok I picked up the rzr with my tractor just now. 4wd vibration is severe. I see my front shaft bouncing like everyone is posting in the videos. No marbles. Now 2wd test. Less vibration but I hear the marbles and it gets progressively louder until the point the front wheels engage at 30 to 40 mph. I bought this in the fall and I took it to the dealer this winter only to be told sorry you have to live with it. It sat all winter until last weekend where I rode it at the badlands and I just can't bring my self to tear up this machine when I know something is not right. So now at 300 miles it's out of warranty with only 4 rides total to be told sorry. I'm going to sue them unles it's fixed or I get my 20k back. I can take videos tomorrow. Front tires engage every time and you can hear the marbles getting louder untill it catches and the wheels engage.7656173298 text me if you have any suggestions. Indianapolis Indiana

How's the carrier bearing? Is it only 4wd?

I have around 1 hour easy time on my machine.
This is not track record.
If the dealer knows about a potential issue with the unit they should inform the customer of the issue.
In my case I did not of any nor was I informed.

I have a 9:00AM appointment to have the driveline changed Hopefully this eliminate the vibration or make it expectable.

Polaris isn't going to do anything about it. If you get really lucky they might fix whatever is getting destroyed when it finally breaks, but that is doubtful. I took mine in yesterday and was told it's normal. I'm just going to drive it as normal, keep up on services, and if it breaks they can eat it.

Good luck! I have yet to see anyone win this argument with Polaris. Go read up on XPRT's issues/fixes in the XP 4 1000 Threads. His car has given him grief since Day 1.

Im just going to drive mine how I intend to. If it fails then I will request some Polaris Engineers to come out and figure out why the hell it failed.

Well I just got back from the dealer.
The head mechanic indicated what I was feeling was nothing compaired to what is in the shop. I was given the opportunity to compare mine against the other's he was referring to. By using the comparison test mine is much less them several of the others but nun the less it is not right.
I was given the opportunity to look at the new 2015 front differential in parts. there was several changes in it that was referred to as cutting back on materials. No load / Thrust shim in the new 2015 units.

I did manage to talk the dealer out of a New Front Drive Line assembly / yes right out of a new machine to rephrase and balance for mine.
The dealer is very understanding know just what the problem is but can not get Polaris to step up and resolve the problem.

This will more than likely take legal action to get any thing done or may be not.

Either way I will have the work done to the Front shaft assembly and report back with outcome.

If you don't CUT APART AND CORRECTLY REPHASE the front drive shafts, it will NEVER be fixed just like SwingArmTim had said earlier. We have done this to EVERY 1000 that comes thru the shop. Find a local shop to do this for you and make sure they balance both shafts together.

ALSO, someone said they did the washer shim on the back of the diff. YES that helps too, but you still have to REPHASE and balance the shafts to get it fixed. Mine still makes a little noise with the front diff engaged, but I have to listen for it to notice it.

We run all our Z1s over 100 mph during testing and can tell you they are vibration FREE.

I can't believe Polaris is still sending CRAP drive shafts out like this! This has been a problem since the 800 and never has been fixed.

Jason, I am a little confused…. I have an XP4 2015 and can understand balancing the drive shafts, one post says he rephrased and it made it worse then put the U joints back out of phase. I read one post where the though is the out of phase is design intent to reduce the effects of the angles of the drive shafts. I realize you have worked on many 1000’s just trying to understand, to rephrase or not. Thanks

Thanks Dean, I have seen this video before. It really gives you a solid understanding on drive shaft angles and problems they can cause. The XP4 has three sets of U joints so we have an odd number the video only has two. I read a post that the thought was why Polaris made the drive shafts out of phase. The post also showed the original drive shafts next to a brand new drive shaft set, the phasing was the same on both. So either they make the same mistake on every drive shaft set or they want them this way.
