What do you think about this amount of play? none of the others are close to this one. I know they will get some play over time but, I thought this was a little much.

I've seen plenty like that including mine. In my exoerience, Its the axel splines begin to wear that cause that.. If you don't like all that play, you can wrap the splines in Teflon tape but will have a harder time removing next time.

No need for any real concerns tho...

2,000 miles on my machine and I have what I would consider normal play. Not super tight but not loose by any means. I can grab the axle shaft and tug up and down on it and it has just enough movement to tell its not rigid or bound up. I would say maybe a mm of deflection at the outer most part(axle boot area)?

I had the same on both sides and checked around and every body has the same even a youtube vid of how the hubs mate together and wear out so.

I started to pull my axels and see if the diff hubs were loose and what could I do and my axels were welded to the hubs. No way of pulling them out, I even put an pry bar on one and no joy.

Called three shops and they all said oh sure we've seen that, no chance of saving anything. So I'm replacing the diff now with RCV pro II axels to see if it hangs in there more than 1600 miles.

Moral of the story damn if you do and hell on the trail if you don't.

Good luck.
